About
A traditional country pub nestled in the heart of the seaside town of Llandudno. The Cottage Loaf has everything you would expect from a Welsh country pub; open fires, wooden beams, old heavy furniture, colourful gardens, great cask ales and hearty homemade food served by a friendly face. The bustling bar offers an array of local cask and craft beers, along with world beers and a guest draught cider or two. There’s some cracking wines behind the bar, a strong selection of Scotland’s finest, as well as some other interesting and quality spirits. There is ample seating both indoors and out including the garden room which opens out onto a courtyard garden, a great little sun trap for those oh-so-brief

Lovely pub. Good atmosphere, well prepared food obviously made from fresh produce and reasonably priced. Very pleasant serving staff. Overall, would be happy to recommend. We really enjoyed our visit.

Llandudno doesn’t have many ‘wonderful’ places to eat 🙄 we stumbled across this little gem on our way to go and get an Italian/pizza for our evening meal. Popped in for a drink and the atmosphere was great. Place was bustling. Asked about food and...told it was fully booked! Hey ho! Go next time eh? Had a drink and after a while we spoke with Bradley to see if there was anything he could do to get us a table (seen loads of food go past by now and all looked great) Good old Bradley got us a table and dined we did! Excellent food! Excellent service! Thanks Bradley 👍🏽More

Called in for lunch as we were in the town and we were nearby. Lovely surroundings and quickly shown to a table. Then had to wave down the waitress after waiting to order drinks but no one came over. Then had to do the same...to order some food. Waited a long time for our food which meant that 2 of our group had to eat and go because they were meeting someone else in town. To be fair, the food was very good on arrival and we would consider coming again when we had more time to wait for service but certainly didn’t leave a tip as the service didn’t deserve it.More

This gorgeous pub was recommended to us by another establishment in Llandudno and I’m so glad we decided to try this lovely pub. We visited on 2 occasions during our stay in the area, we heard good things about the food however on our last...night the kitchen was closed due to staff shortages so unfortunately never got to sample the food. Great selection of real ales, my husbands new tipple is Purple Moose so definitely recommend this real ale. Great selection of lagers and Rums also, staff were very friendly and attentive. One of the staff even remembered what we drank on the previous evening, very surprised by this as the pub was busy, this made the pub even more special. Drinks are very reasonably priced and there’s an amazing beer garden as well. Will definitely return on our next visit and everything crossed we get to eat here as well.More

We visited here during our 4 night stay in Llandudno for a table of 4. The pub itself was lovely and cosy with really nice decor. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and offered excellent service. The food was fantastic- a step above 'pub...grub' which we were expected. Beautifully presented and very tasty. Cannot wait to return to Llandudno so we can visit here again.More

We went here for an evening meal on Wednesday the 26th October 22. Nice table, good food and no fuss. Too many places have put up their prices but not the quality of the food, this was one that did well on that front. We...will be back! :-)More

A very generous 'poor' is awarded to The Cottage Loaf, purely because the others in my group had 'average' meals. Otherwise, based on my meal alone and the level of service we all encountered, it would be a 'terrible'. My large battered fish chips and...peas was served in an inedible state. The batter was so badly burnt that it was a dark brown in colour and the fish content was almost non- existent as the fish was so thin. It was an absolute disgrace that it should ever have left the kitchen to be presented to a customer, and the chef/persons responsible were hopefully ashamed of themselves upon its return. I immediately complained to a male server who looked over my shoulder and said, 'oh has it been cooked too much', and then disappeared like a flash before I could respond. Two waitresses then made it quite obvious that they were avoiding eye contact as I attempted to attract their attention, and then managed to ignore my calls as I politely raised my arm and said, 'excuse me'. I ended up having to get up from the table and ask a waitress to return to the table with me. With no apology and little to no acknowledgement that the fish was obviously overcooked and inedible, the meal was quickly whipped away with the offer of a replacement. I said I wasn't paying for my meal and wasn't charged, but as the others had almost finished their meals it was too late to order something else. My wife enjoyed her pork belly meal but the portion was miniscule and my son-in-law's burger was well below average. Even the two drinks orders were messed up. We were a drink missing the first time and a wrong drink was served on the second. We've all been here several times before and in fairness it's been much better on each and every previous visit. However, we all agreed that my meal should never have made it to the table and that the quality of service on this occasion was extremely poor - not one single member of staff seemed to care! The offer of a drink on the house might have gone some way towards redeeming the situation but - nothing! Something doesn't feel quite right with this place, so we will not be returning for a while.More

Lovely pub in Llandudno - great friendly service and the food was delicious - I had the delicious lamb dish followed by jam roly poly and my partner enjoyed the fish dish followed by a tasty cheesecake

The location is idea with a vast drinks menu, the team are mostly welcoming and the venue is cozy and ideal for winter but the food was a letdown. We chose The Cottage Loaf as it came recommended by family friends for its ‘home style...cooking’ but that’s far from what we received. Steak & Ale pie was not fresh nor home made. Pie had been pre sliced before refrigeration or possible freezing (char lines on the side of the pie showed it has been warmed up after slicing) and it was STONE COLD in the centre (gravy was nice tho). Shepards Pie was a good size individually cooked pie however based on the amount of water/liquid in under the mash potato top it had been cooked from frozen. It’s a shame but because the location is idea and the actual pub itself is nice but sadly won’t be returning or recommending this place!More

Love this pub restaurant. Booked for a family of 5 whilst on a family trip to Llandudno We were booked for 4 pm, a friendly man showed us to our table, said he’d be serving us and just to ask if we needed anything. I...think they were short staffed as he seemed to be doing all the ordering and serving in the area we were sat We waited some time after being seated to even place a drinks order. We were advised it was table service but I think it would be far quicker to simply go to the bar yourself The roast dinners arrived lukewarm, awful vegetables (think mushy sprouts with a hard centre, no doubt frozen) my roast potatoes were a mix on one over cooked and one under. My daughter’s roast carrot was huge and hard as it was undercooked The beef was not tender and was difficult to slice with knives that would struggle with butter! I wanted extra gravy, as hardly any on plate but also to warm the barely warm food We had to find a member of staff ourselves to ask for this as no one was near us at any point to flag down We were not offered sauces, such as horseradish or mustard When the server asked if the food was ok when clearing the plates, I advised it wasn’t very hot hence we asked for the extra gravy, he just looked over and said nothing else Overall this is a lovely looking pub, the staff were working hard but maybe there were not enough of them The food was not up to standard I’m sad to sayMore

We hadn’t booked so just turned up. The pub was very busy. We found a table and ordered roasts. My pity was delicious and my partner had the lamb which he said was delicious also. We offered deserts jam roll poly which was very mediocre...and a cheesecake which was fab ! Not exorbitant prices the pub itself is charming.More

Disappointing Sunday lunch..luke warm, beef tough, roast potatoes anaemic, frozen sprouts like bullets. Couldn't figure out what the sloppy mess was under the beef. At first I thought it was horseradish..but no..poss it was some sloppy mashed potato. On the plus side the Yorkshire pudding...was OK & apparently the penne pasta was good! I was offered a replacement, but who wants to wait another 20 mins while the other party has finished their meal?More

They do and they are gorgeous, but if you haven't booked get there early, (around 12) as it gets busy quick.
