Turned up last Saturday for a meal at 19.30 that had been previously booked over the phone to find the place shut!!! Just a small notice in the four saying "watch this space"!! They could have rang us to say they wouldn't be open as...More

Visited with husband and friends. The pub looks a bit shabby from the outside and the interior is 'shabby chic' - which works very well. Ladies loos were clean and bright. My first pint of Cliff Quay was cloudy but was replaced from a different...More

Went for a family meal to celebrate a special occasion.Lovely relaxed atmosphere despite hardly an empty seat in the whole place. Sat at a window table where you can just see the river. Food was excellent, generous portions and good service.

Lovely, quirky pub next to the docks in Ipswich. Sadly it no longer serves food on a Monday and the brewery is no longer working. Very friendly staff, so stayed for a very good glass of wine and excellent local beer.

What a surprise! The Brewery Tap is a gem of a place. Rustic decor, fairy lights and candles on the tables made for a romantic feel to this place. The staff were very friendly and helpful with the right amount of attentiveness. We were recommended...More

First trip to Ipswich and what a find, nice to see they use local Suffolk produce. Very varied menu, difficult to choose what to eat as it all looked so scrumptious. Good ambience and staff very hospitable. Would definitely revisit when in this area again.

I have had some really good meals here previously but my meal over the weekend and 2 of the other people in our party had poor meals. Fish batter very overcooked and not a lot of fish in the middle. Soup was more like a...More

Found the pub on the internet as we needed lunch in a certain location. Initially we couldn't see the entrance to the pub but then saw a sign on a wall directing us further up the road, right opposite the dock entrance. There was a...More

Last minute decision to head out here yesterday - it was way quieter in there than usual. Food was top notch though - whatever intermittent issues they've had recently weren't in evidence. All three courses were fab - pick of the starters being the fish...More

The Brewery Tap is situated next to the old Tolly Cobbold Brewery in the Cliff Road Dock area. It's a free house and keeps the traditions of a Suffolk pub alive, serving lots of local produce and a range of local beers, and fresh Pizzas...More

This is a lovely Gastro Pub, the new owners took over in October 2009 and have fantastic plans. They only serve locally brewed Bitter and Lager plus a great wine list. Mike is a fantastic chef and the staff are always friendly, smiling and helpful. Lots of space for private parties or meetings. Daily fresh menu with local produce.
