What a disappointment It’s quite a time since we went to the Ship in Levington, our mistake, as it has quite a good reputation. We went for my wife’s birthday with two friends hoping for a good Sunday lunch experience. What a disappointment. It’s a lovely old quintessential English pub, low beams, character and the promise of good beer and... More

The meal was excellent, with a good vegetarian main, we went on a walk along the water afterwards where the scenery was lovely.

For me it's the little things , really fresh bread , Adnams off the keg , homemade chips to die for , local producers products and position. A nice lunch with service staff maybe the only downside at the bar , a little dour , perhaps it was the end of a busy lunch . Will go again to sample... More

Whilst on business near Ipswich, I was recommended the Ship as a nearby pub with a good reputation. I have to say, I was not disappointed. It's a locals pub, and the welcome from staff was excellent, as was the interaction with the locals with me being "Billy no mates" having a table for one. The specials board is a... More

Beautiful country pub in stunning surroundings. Quaint, friendly and lovely to see one of few 'dog friendly' pubs around. Staff were attentive, polite and friendly and the food was exceptional. We both had roast lamb, which was delicious and a very good portion. My husband particularly liked the 'real Admans Ale' served straight from the keg! We will definitely be... More

We had a lovely meal with friends at the Ship. I had the sea bass and my husband the liver dish. Both were beautiful and the portions very generous. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and I would highly recommend it.

Had lunch here on Tuesday 13th September with my son and daughter in law. Had booked a table for 1pm that morning and set off from Bury St Edmunds in plenty of time at 11.45.am. Encountered an accident on the A14 and were held up for an 1.45 hrs. I kept the Ship informed of our delay and was told... More

This pub is next door to St Peter's Church in Levington Village. There is a lovely walk opposite the pub down to the River Orwell. On the menu there is fish and chips, mussels and liver and bacon. Traditional pub food served with lots of vegetables. Adnam's ales and wines. I had seabass on my last visit which was very... More
