Flying to Edinburgh from Parkstone for the 6 Nations, Scotland v Wales match we decided to try The Cow. Situated of the station was perfect. Cold misserable day, open fires burning, good start to what we hoped was to be a great W/E. It certainly was. Drinks ordered, menus read, time to relax. Never, normally eating "burgers" we ordered 1... More

what a disappointment... basic, standard menu, if a steak looks too cheap to be true it usually is (when will I learn this simple fact ?) uninspiring décor boring menu (not a specials' board in sight. sad end as a chain pub, that only has one thing going its right by the train station and easy to get out of... We had been driving for a few hours and needed sustenance, had been recommended The Cow and was not disappointed. The new manager was friendly and attentive but not intrusive and the food was tasty and well priced. It was good to note that the food was clearly cooked to order and not just reheated. A lively but comfortable atmosphere... More

Nice, cosy and relaxed vibe (went Sunday eve). Staff are friendly, food is decent and priced about right for what it is. Literally right next to Parkstone station, so great for a quick pint on the way home etc.

The Cow is a lovely haven, just a little off the beaten track on the way into Poole. Friendly staff, immaculate surroundings and great service. Just had time to savour the jerk pulled pork wrap with spring onion, pomegranate and sour cream, which was delightful. I'll be back for a full meal very soon.

What happened to James?. This place was great with him running it. Went there recently and atmosphere has totally gone, new manager seems disinterested (unlike James who always had something to say and was so friendly and checked everything was ok). Had buffalo chicken which i wrongly assumed would be wings but they were BATTERED strips?? Disappointing. Me and my... More

Typically gk pubs I would associate with generic pingping food that wetherspoons do. I couldn't have been proved more wrong with this place!! Went with a group of friends for an overdue catchup and suggested this place as it was next to train station. Was particularly impressed with the personal touch of the specials menu -I chose the pork belly... More

We enjoyed a lunch time fish sharing board, nachos and a brownie to finish off. All were delicious and the service was fast and friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

We visited the lovely area of Ashley cross. Had a Sunday roast and was brilliant. We have now booked a private party in their parlour room. Gorgeous. New management have the place organised a lot better.

Omg - complete transformation in a short space of time! Dom, the manager with the most, has transforned the atmosphere in a short space of time! He has so many plans . Jordan the head chef has so many flavoursome specials for the new menu. Give it a try - exciting times!
