5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed yesterday NEW

We called into this lovely little pub by chance last year and were lucky enough to go there again yesterday. The food here is superb and we could find no fault. The sea bream and plaice was fabulous and the veg cooked to perfection. Wouldn't go anywhere else for lunch when in Poole even though slightly pricey - but we'll... More

Proper pub located on the harbour with good ales, great seafood menu and friendly staff. I wish it was my local.

I went to this predominantly seafood pub for lunch, to try the smoked haddock pot. It was very good and came with a wedge of fresh bread and two pats of butter. The sauce was excellent, though I felt for £11.50 there should have been rather more smoked haddock in it. As described, the dish was served in a pot... More

Ate and drank here Sat 14th Jan. Sardines, haddock pot, squid and sea bream all excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. We have visited this pub on trips to Poole for over a decade. We love the pub. The rather conservative selection of real ales is well kept but not exciting. However, the food and the pub''s character are what we... More

I had a superb smoked haddock pot and my wife a fish pie Both were very well prepared and finished with a cheese topping My lunch was complete... More

Visited on quiet Tuesday evening in Jan. Staff very friendly and had a card for the birthday celebration. Sprats and mussels for starters, and sea bream and plaice for mains. The plaice in particular was cooked excellently. Will definitely revisit.

We went to the Poole Arms for a late lunch. It was still busy, but we didn't have to wait too long for a table, and it is possible to reserve. There was also a bit of a wait for the food, but that it quite reassuring, as it normally means that it is being freshly prepared. We had a... More

Claimed to be a the oldest pub in Poole it certainly looks the part. The were several real ales on pump plus a few of the regular popular branded beers. The food was excellent, Freshly cooked and well presented. It also tasted very good. Prices were reasonable. The outlook was onto Poole Harbour which would probably be obscured in the... More
