The pub has a very welcoming atmosphere especially as today was cold, beautiful roaring fires. Our meals were served quickly, the food was delicious, the service very good, will definitely call back.

This place is our family's favourite restaurant. On this visit - Saturday, early evening, the food was fabulous - everyone in our party of 6 chose a different dish from the menu for main and for dessert. We were all served at the same time by 2 waitresses. All piping hot and delicious, no-one was disappointed. Lovely open fires, homely... More

Travel up from Devon twice a year. Meet up with old police work colleagues whilst visiting relatives in Darlington. Always find food good and fairly priced for size of portion served. Drinks fairly priced with good selection offered.Staff very friendly and very attentative.

We were asked if we'd like table service or order our own food and drinks at the bar. I opted for table service and told where to sit. We waited a good 20minutes. No one came to take our drinks and food order so I went to the bar to order. The starter came almost immediately. Nothing particularly fancy but... More

Sunday evening was probably not the best time to eat out and of course several meals were sold out , however , having chosen from the limited choices remaining , the standard was extremely poor. From undercooked fish, a roast which offered fatty lamb and the worst Yorkshire pudding ever seen, to soggy triple fried chips , these have got... More

Haven't been for a very long time so when planning a nice meal out we decided to give it a go. We weren't disappointed. From reserving a table on line to paying the bill we received excellent service from all staff. The menu choices were excellent and the food was delicious. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant.

Food was very nice and quite a varied menu and specials, setting is also very nice, quaint and clean. I did feel that the ale at £4.30 a pint to be quite steep for the area though. Other than that a pleasant dining experience and will return.

Last Sunday went to the Old Farmhouse around 7pm to find most of the roasts had run out but that is fair enough it was later in the day- we ended up with a sharing beef platter. We could not fault the shin beef it was gorgeous - fell off the bone. But the beef slices we had to share... More
