Just visited again for the early bird menu with friends. Great value for money for the yummy food, had pate to start and rump steak for main for £15.95 for 2 courses. Good size portions and great chips, Excellent friendly service and nice atmosphere, recommend booking as it's always busy. Highly recommend a visit.

Part of six went for the 'Early Bird' on a Friday evening. The place was busy and the service was personal and attentive: excellent. We deviated from the set menu and sampled mussels (a highlight), breads and olives (very good) as well as pate, cod and sea bass from the specials and main menu. All the food was very good... More

Went to the Cow Shed for Saturday Lunch. We had the two course meal which was excellent. The steak was cooked to perfection. The chips would be great if twice cooked from fresh potatoes, the frozen ones let it down. Salad and dressing good. The creme brulee' was excellent. Will return if this is the standard as always.

Called here with my friend BIG PETE, we were welcomed into this restaurant and decided to have soup to start, steak for mains and I had lemon tart and Pete had cheesecake with a few peroni bottles. The food was gorgeous and the service was excellent. Great place and I would highly recommend

The Cow Shed is delicious. Very pretty inside with lots of space, really friendly staff and an open kitchen where you can see the chefs at work! My steak was cooked to perfection, exactly how I wanted it. One of the best steaks I've had that hasn't been in France. The food was to die for and there's a good... More

Is it me...am i being unreasonable? But when i pay £22.95 for a steak and chips, is it unreasonable to expect nice "real" homemade/not frozen chips. You get frozen chips in Morrison's Cafe or in Wetherspoon's who must buy them in by the tonne and i get that. But the Cow Shed isn't that big, they don't have THAT many... More

As per the title, this place is a gem. I have eaten here at a table for two, 5 and 20+... they've never let me down. Doubtless I've reviewed before but this is my "go to" place for a special event. I have a few others, but they have been occasionally 'surprising' in how they've treated me or one of... More
