We popped in here after a walk on the Quantocks and had a lovely Sunday lunch in a wonderful atmosphere. It's great to see the pub buzzing again.

First class dining and welcoming bar! Highly recommended as the new management Tim Young and Jane Bishop take over whilst their own pub/restaurant "The Farmers' Arms" is being rebuilt in Combe Florey after the recent fire. Along with their excellent, friendly, hard-working team led by William and Karen and their highly regarded chef Lynda Larkin and Kirsty producing perfect steaks... More

I'm not someone who writes bad reviews especially if you are somewhere where you don't expect much. However, the Blue Ball was a shocker when I went. The landlord couldn't have made us feel less welcome, even to the level of almost being confrontation at times. He huffed and puffed about putting ice in our soft drinks. He also claimed... More

After a cold walk on the Quantocks, where we'd been amazed by the views up the Bristol Channel to Minehead and across to Wales, we warmed up at the cosy Blue Ball Inn at Triscombe, where luckily for us they serve Sunday lunch well into the afternoon. Most of us had the roast, which went down well; I went for... More

My sister took us to dinner one night and what a nice place it was. The place looks original with wooden beans decorations and tables but the food was even better. Original dishes on the menu and specials board had something for everyone. We had pheasant which was in season and shot locally, and a sharing fillet steak that melted... More

We visited the Blue Ball a few weeks ago and I have to say it was a really nice experience. The food is delicious and quite original. I loved the scrabbled duck egg with smoked trout and the lamb dish from the main menu. The pheasant and the sharing chateaubriand from the special board were so juicy and tasty... The... More

Well we struck lucky when we stumbled across this excellent pub. The food was wonderful, the staff /landlord were very friendly indeed. The pub is warm and cosy with great beer and cider (including Roger Wilkins - bonus). Highly recommended and we will be back.

Admittedly we were only sheltering from the rain by having a cup of tea in this pub. We are regulars but hadn't been there for a while. The tea we had was tepid at best and the response from the owner/ barman when this was pointed out was to blame his equipment rather than apologise, not a big deal but... More

We ordered Sunday lunch for four people all having roast lamb. The service was painfully slow and we continually needed to ask the waitress to take our order. The meat was good but the vegetables were undercooked and cold. They'd also run out of some menu items. The waitresses indicated that they were really busy but with plenty of empty... More

I am sorry that you were disappointed and share your frustration if you had to continually ask to have your order taken. I have asked the two waitresses on duty about this and neither experienced the request on Sunday Lunch, in fact ever. We were admittedly one Waitress short (due to the Flu bug) on what was a very busy... More

Description
Traditional but unique Olde Worlde Pub / Restaurant. Thatched Roof, Beautiful wooden interior and eaves which form the Bar and Dining Rooms. Relaxed informal atmosphere. Beautiful natural country beer garden with stunning views and surrounded by superb trees on three sides. We could go on but just come and experience it for yourselves.
