Just visited the Bicknoller and had a lovely roast. Friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. We chose to sit outside, as it was very busy indoors, the sun was shining.

Having booked a Sunday lunch at 2.30 pm we arrived to find no meat was left. There had been a mix up over number of guest v amount of meat. There had obviously been some heated discussion between the staff and initially the reception from...the staff was rather cold. To be fair we were offered alternatives of cold ham and lasagne together with veg and side dishes which come with a carvery plus a discounted price. Quality was good. From looking at other reviews I suspect this is a rare event if not an isolated incidence but it was our experience.More

Hi - we are sorry if you thought your welcome was “cold” as the team really aren’t like that at all. I guess, as a whole we are all trying our bests to deal with the constant rise in bookings, walk ins and after this...More

We stopped by early on the off-chance that there would be space for us at lunchtime. The manager was very welcoming and assured us that there would be space at noon. On our return we had a choice of where to sit. The staff were...all friendly and attentive. Food was great, and exceeded all expectations. We really appreciated the flexibility we were shown to keep our children happy, especially in these covid times. Would highly recommend and hope to come back again when we're in the area!More

We went on the Tuesday night and enjoyed a really decent meal. The welcome could not have been more friendly both from the owners and the locals. It just felt a really nice place to visit and I can strongly recommend a visit!

After a great walk up to the Quantocks, we arrived at the pub in anticipation of a great carvery. Sadly overall a let down, the bar service was very slow - clearly they were v.busy, but did not seem to have the staff available to...offer a decent service. Pork and beef on offer - the Pork was fine, but the beef seriously overcooked, and unfortunately the vegetables also - mushy and somewhat watery - there is no excuse not to offer al dente veggies these days. However, very nice puddings to finish.More

Hi - thanks for your review. We can’t do “al dente” vegetables on a carvery unit unfortunately. And yes - the bar service - at times can be very busy. 120 people passed through the doors and now restrictions are lifted many are choosing to...More

We have just had a delicious lunch . Friendly staff, efficiently run, no hanging around for food, and the food is freshly cooked. Ideal for families. Scampi and chips very nice and the crumble delicious.

Yesterday three of us booked in for a Sunday Roast. The lunch itself was really delicious, but spoiled by the unfriendliness of the staff. Although the main course was brought to the table in good time, the sweet took 45 minutes to appear. Certainly won’t...be visiting again.More

Booked a table over the phone for that evening and sat quickly to our table. Enjoyed baked Camembert to share then lasagne and rump steak for main. Good pub grub and quick service. Not too bad.
