Been before years ago and had wonderful experience. This time was half term week, it was busy but there seemed to be enough staff around.
There was a look of disgust at us wanting to share a starter (garlic bread x2) between 3 adults and...a child, plus sharing an adult meal with a child who had been off it all week and hadn't much of an appetite (pizza).
Arrabbiata was bland and did not have the spice we would have expected from other restaurants.
We asked for a 2nd drink as the mains were brought out and told they were too busy to get us any.
Once we had eaten and the table was cleared of our plates, no one came back to ask if we wanted anything else, no coffee, no deserts.
Terrible Service - Will definitely not be going back.More
So disappointed until this week this was our favourite restaurant. Refurbishment looks beautiful but the food wasn’t up to the usual standard and portion size greatly reduced. My king prawn linguine had just 3 king prawns and the pizza bases were more like pizza hut...than the usual Italian lovely bases. Won’t be returningMore
Last time we went here was before a refurbishment and the food was just OK. This time we were housed in the new extension for our meal and this was very modern and romantic in decor. The service was excellent and we were seated relatively...quickly and attended to immediately. The food choice was extremely wide so there was a dish for everyone and many veggie dishes. The risotto I had was excellent but my partner's seafood dish was stunning. The amount of seafood in the dish made us wonder if there were anything left in the North Sea. Cooked to perfection and one of the best seafood dishes she had ever had (coming from someone who knows her seafood this is high praise indeed). This is a great Italian and worth a visit when you are in town.More
The BEST Italian food we have ever tasted. Absolutely gorgeous! We booked a table based on reviews, celebrating our 20th Anniversary as a couple, and we could not have been more delighted.
From the warm welcome we received on arrival to the attentive, non intrusive...staff. Great ambience. Huge portions packed full of delicious ingredients. I chose the Rigatoni and it had plenty of good chunks of chicken and bacon. The Tiramisu and Banoffee Pie is to die for and all beautifully presented on pretty crockery. It's definitely got the WOW factor here in every way.
Thank you Tarantinos for making our nightMore
As fairly regular customers over the past 8 /9 years and never had any reason to give anything but a good review before.
We went last night fairly early we had our usual starter not as good as previously, as we share the starter the...plate the food arrived on and my husband’s plate were taken before I had finished, and as soon as I had finished the main course was put in front of us, can’t fault the food but felt rushed, in and out in 40 minutes.I was always told you wait until everyone has finished before clearing, I hope this was just a one off experience!!.More
Enjoyed a lovely evening meal. Varied menu choices, great food and comfortable, modern dining area. We hadn't pre-booked and we managed to get a table. Will be booking for our next visit as would be very disappointed to miss the opportunity to dine here again.
My wife & I were recommended Tarantino as a good italian restaurant and it is. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive and helpful we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will return when next in Skeggy
