Visited walkers with my family of five. First impressions were great, tasteful restaurant with relaxed but attentive staff. I ordered a large haddock and chips, the fish was massive with light and crispy batter. My wife and son had the scampi which was obviously fresh and my other two had the child's menu which was a decent portion. Puddings were... More

A large family gathering with some noisy kids. Sorry to anyone who was disturbed by us! The staff were great and very efficient in taking our order, delivering the hot meals and sorting out the bill. The haddock, chips and mushy peas was top notch, with a crisp batter and a large portion. The sweets looked great too but i... More

The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and is immaculately clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Sadly, in this occasion, the food didn't live up to the surroundings. The chips were a mixture of nice golden fresh ones and, what I assumed to be, reheated old ones due to their colour and taste. They seemed burnt. The waitress suggested that they... More

This is a perfect example of how best to run a catering establishment. The staff, welcome, service, cleanliness and always, the food are excellent. A huge asset to the village and a great credit to the proprietors

I had fish chips with Yorkshire caviar (mushy peas) and I have to say the chips were great ! However I guess whoever prepared the mushy peas must have let the salt slip as they were just far too salty. The fish needed another couple of minutes in the fryer as a large portion of it was just plain raw.... More

On arriving at Walkers my partner and I were greeted warmly and promptly offered a table. The staff were very accommodating even though we arrived toward the end of food service. We weren't rushed and had plenty of time to make our meal choices. I ordered the cod with gluten free batter and it was the best fish I have... More

Got three portions of fish and chips tonight. Batter crisp and light, chips golden and crispy and peas just perfect. Good selection of sauces. The only slight issue we had was that the bread was obviously spread with cheap margarine rather than real butter. We now know that saturated fat doesn't cause heart disease, and that full-fat products such as... More
