Wetherspoons, if you've been in one - you've been in all of them. I think the diamond tap is no different, to my local one and in fairness they are budget food and drink so you won't expect too much.

Terrible place with very little redeeming factors. Not worth considering in Newbury at all, visit somewhere more enlightening.

Went for the breakfast bagel with cream cheese. The cheese was weird. It wasn't the Philadelphia I am used to, this looked as if was an Eastern European product, I couldn't read the label. It had a "soapy" taste and wasn't pleasant to my taste. Otherwise, a standard Spoon.

Had a business trip to Newbury and the hotel I was staying in didn't have a bar or restaurant. Found as usual a good selection of food in a typical spoons.

Always good for dining on a budget, a really nice chicken breast burger with chips and a drink for less than a fiver, can't go wrong

I visit here quite often and have not been disappointed. Ok, so they sometimes run out of things you order, get over it. I also visit the Liberty Bound at Tower Bridge occassionally and it's just the same. If people want the Ritz then go there and pay for it. However, if you want cheap and cheerful with a pint... Good size pub of the Wetherspoons chain. Really nice upstairs section when it is open. Good range of different seating depending on your mood and company. Standard great value WS food menu and a good selection of drinks. I have visited the Tap multiple times in the past 6 months and every time the service has been excellent though I... More

Went to the Tap looking to check out real ales. A bit disappointed as only one decent one worth trying. Off to the next pub!
