Breakfast in the Palm Court is a magical experience. A good set menu to choose from. Grilled pink grapefruit is amazing! Choice of English breakfast, vegetarian option and more traditional dishes like smoked salmon or kippers. With a view across the Leas and the Channel it's an experience rather than just breakfast. Arrive before 9am to make the most of... More

I was there for breakfast on Monday 01 may. Food is cheap and good. Staff really friendly. I felt sorry for her as it was only her and she had to do everything such as preparing the coffee, serving, taking order, cleaning tables. She was working hard but always had a smile in her face. The surroundings are a bit... More

Dear Jlonga, Thank you for your review, I have read through these comments and passed them to the concerning departments; however I can assure you that the ceiling is safe and sound. Unfortunately we suffered some severe damage a while back due to bad weather (the Palm Court is a glass conservatory) and have been restructuring the ceiling as a... More

A return visit to the Grand for Sunday lunch function for nearly 90 people. Good service, good food and well presented decor harking back to its origins. Good views across the sea to France. Walked of the meal with a lovely promenade along The Leas. The 'walk in' restaurants also seemed to be well attended.

The Hotel is an amazing example of British Hotel architecture. A beautiful retro hotel situated on the cliff top with amazing views overlooking the sea. I visited the hotel with friends for afternoon tea, and felt quite disappointed. The setting is amazing and fortunately made up for the food. The tea consisted of sandwiches cut into quarters ( one triangle... More

I dined here today with a large party of friends. It was the worst Sunday lunch I have ever eaten! On arrival I asked for glass of Merlot - it was undrinkable. I complained and it was immediately changed - for another out of the same bottle! I complained again and asked for a glass of Sangiovese. That was foul... More

We ate here one evening as it was a short walk along The Leas from our B&B and has a position overlooking The Channel. Although it was a Saturday night it was relatively quiet, but this meant we got great service from Sharon. There was a pianist as well playing a selection of standards. We had 3 courses for a... Seems that this is the grandest place in Folkestone for a relaxing environment to spend a few hours for a meal. It is a large area and still retains some of the grandeur of bygone days. It overlooks the seafront and it is a half hour walk to Folkestone centre along the seafront. Food and service is fine.

Celebratory lunch for our 95yo uncle. I chose a cold smoked meat platter with olives and home made bread but what turned up was a variety of smoked meats (warm) plus salad and chips; all very average. Apparently the roast of the day (beef without a hint of blood) was very tasty as was the burger. We dined in the... More

We had a lovely meal on a visit to Folkestone. The meal was well cooked and presented, the lady that served us was very friendly and efficient. Although it was quiet that night she said she had served 50 afternoon teas that afternoon.
