My visit was actually just over a month ago now, but I don't imagine much has changed since. It hasn't in the last 10 years. Prior to my last visit it had been about 2 years since I had last been to the Half moon, and as I said not much has changed. Same old Grumpy landlord and Staff who... More

We was visiting family in the nearby area who eat at this pub a lot. We have also been here a few times previously and have always left feeling very satisfied and full! They also have some good ale on tap.

The food is good, and still large portions. The service is efficient but where it is so very busy sometimes there is a wait. Go early would be my recommendation. Otherwise there are no complaints from me.

This place is very well known for two things, good food and the staff that hate all customers! They don't discriminate in anyway, they really do dislike all of their customers. Unfortunately the food I had on this recent visit was awful. The fish looked like it had been deep fried on and off for 3 days, dreadful. Thankfully, now... More

You will need to visit more than once due to the fantastic range on the menu, there is service with a smile, you will need to time your visit as it gets very busy as you would expect.

Being local to the area, I've eaten in The Half-Moon occasionally over the past 10+ yrs and the menu hasn't once changed. There's still the 'Curry of the Day' (from a jar), the Chilli Con Carne (also from a jar or at best, bought in pre-made) or Ribs which look like they came from a Rhino. The menus are blackboards... The half moon at mudford is my no frills place to enjoy eating. You get exactly what you order with no faff. My recommendations on the lunch menu would be the steak baguette with cheese, and in the evening the steak and ale pie. You can't go wrong for the money!

Whilst not a local I visit friends in Yeovil and we usually pop down to this great pub for dinner. The food is always great and the beers are well kept. I look forward to a speedy return.
