We spoke to the manager a few months in advance and discussed the possibility of hiring out the whole restaurant as a venue for a pre-wedding meal. The owner was very accommodating and nothing seemed too difficult for him to organise. In the end, he hired in extra staff and opened the restaurant for our private function during a time... More

We booked a table for 3 here for 8.30pm this evening. We waited 1 hr 15 minutes for our food to arrive. The steak was cooked nicely but it was very bland and a little chewy. Out of 3 steak sauces on the menu, only 1 was available. I would however say that the duck was very nice. The service... More

First time visitors to the Cowshed & we were very happy with our meal. Mid week so it was a bit quieter than I'm guessing a Friday or weekend. The two ladies running front of house that night were lovely, it was a very relaxed atmosphere, service was prompt. Our starters of muscles & tiger prawns were both cooked beautifully.... More

Amazing meal and service. The tiger prawns in chilli and garlic oil are a must they are fresh tasty and fiery. The duck was lovely and the red cabbage was absolutely perfect. Well done Caroline and the team.

Well worth the trip out to this country bistro style restaurant. The duck main course is fantastic, as is the brazed beef. Prices are excellent value for money and the service is very good. Expect to pay around £40 per head for 3 courses and modest drinking. Car parking is excellent and all facilities are on the ground floor, good... More

Our first visit to the Cowshed was for an 80th birthday in late September. We enjoyed it so much and were so impressed with the food and service we decided to book for Sunday Lunch. We have a disabled Mum in a wheelchair and we try and take her somewhere different on a Sunday and she was absolutely delighted. Access... More

I have visited The Cowshed 3 times over the past few months with my husband. Each time I have tried something different from the menu and everything has been fantastic. The chicken in wild mushroom sauce I had today was my favourite so far. Also, all of the desserts are amazing. I love the relaxed atmosphere and decor. All of... More

Description
Set in the South Staffordshire countryside on a working farm just one mile from the village of Pattingham, The Cowshed has been converted into a fantastic contemporary restaurant. Originally the Clive Farm Dairy, the dining room now boasts a stunning interior featuring rustic oak beams and a mezzanine balcony area. The Cowshed's classic modern British menu, under instruction from Head Chef Joe Whitehouse, features favourites such as the pan-seared scallops with pancetta and sherry jus served with ciabatta toast; pan-roasted duck breast served with a zesty potato cake finished with a kumquat and grenadine jus; and the restaurant's signature Cowshed game pie stuffed with quail eggs and served with a sharp home made chutney.
