We went to the Horseshoe with relatives and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We all chose different meals from the menu, but the results were the same, all the food was of an excellent quality served by friendly attentive staff.

I'd not visited the Horse Shoe in Astbury in ages and what a really pleasant evening we had along with family and small children who just loved the newly built outdoor play area where kids can be safely watched whilst parents/adults can enjoy a drink in the garden (on a nice day that is!). The staff team were really helpful... More

This pub has great food, fabulous service, loads of places to sit to eat, a group in a room with two arches to access it kept noise reduced, a quiet more spacious area, and the staff were amazing as it was so busy on Saturday night, they worked hard and everyone around seemed happy, whilst staff were friendly yet professional... We decided to eat out at the last minute but rang and managed to get a table. Nice friendly atmosphere, mainly locals. Menu was great plus several specials. I ordered a special which when it came made me think it contained cheese but had not specified it as part of the sauce. Irrespective of blame it was changed for any... More

Took friends out for lunch on Saturday and popped in to the Horse Shoe in Croft for their lunch time special for £5.50 and we chose the homemade leek and potatoe soup and sandwiches. What great value for money. We did well to get a table as it appears that the word has got out. I will be going again... More

Asked what the meal was like we explained it was okay but just a few grumbles about over done fish; peeled plain new potatoes and limp asparagus. Dave the manager came over, listened as we told him for feedback and then stated 'it is our normal standard of food' so there is nothing we can do. Goodbye. Paid more for... More

We always enjoy the home made good at the Horseshoe. We tend to eat in the Spooky Room which, whilst in need of a refurb, is cosy and good for the children. Food is always hot and tasty. Would recommend the Cod Mornay, it's delicious!
