Torn between putting very good and average, if there had been a "Good" I would have put that ...... ........... Had lunch here on our first day in Lymington and both had Ploughmans and they were lovely, large and tasty. Staff very nice and friendly, pub really well laid out, a good size and a lovely beer garden which had... More

We were visiting Lymington for the afternoon and as it was very busy everywhere we moved on towards New Milton, looking for somewhere for lunch. We saw this pub and it looked nice and stopped. Nice warm welcome. Four of us ordered starters and were surprised at how large the portions were! I had Fish (Whale!) and Chips and enjoyed... More

It was that sign for "real ale" that brought us here. Good beer on tap selection, and my BLT was on a fresh ciabatta loaf with a nice salad on the side. With my pint, my wife's half pint, and her baked potato, it came under 20 pounds. Perfect pub with scrubbed pine tables, and NOT A CHAIN.

Called in for an evening with son and his girlfriend. Excellent service, chef and landlord went out of their way to alter their meal to suit our vegan son. Service was efficient and all staff welcoming. They even went so far as to reserve a table for us by the fire so that we could take part in the Monday... More

We popped in here on the off chance that they could fit us in on Mother's Day after a drive through the new forest admiring the animals. It looked busy from the outside so we knew it was a long shot, the staff were really friendly and after a chat with the carvery chef they confirmed that as long as... More

Had Sunday lunch with my family and we all chose rib of beef. Prompt service from friendly waitress. No complaints about the quality and quantity of meat but the accompaniments were disappointing with soggy squashed yorkshire puddings and the veg was a bit sad although I think we might have just missed these being refreshed. Our table was next to... More

We were a table of six for lunch. There was a specials board as well as a normal lunch menu. The specials were slightly out of the ordinary. We all chose from this board and all the meals were good. There was a good choice of beers and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The staff at The White Hart are lovely and the food is great; local produce and they're not mean with portion sizes. There's a nice quiet area with cozy chairs at one end of the bar and the pictures of the local area through time add to what is becoming a rare environment - a good local pub.
