Me and my family came to hoddom coachhouse for the music on the 29th of august. Eden was very attentive and was always checking up on us. Highly recommend, such a lovely place to visit, staff were excellent, good food and dog friendly.
We were staying onsite and decided to try the Coach House for an evening meal on the Saturday night. All the staff were friendly and really helpful from the ‘bouncers’ to the Manager Darryl(?). We originally tried to book a table before we arrived on...site but were told they were fully booked however on arrival my husband called in and they said they would be able to fit us in once we had set up camp. The food was lovely, great selection of food from steak and ale pies to fish and chips to beef stroganoff and plougmans. There is also a good children’s menu and the portions sizes are just right. They were operating a pay as you order table service which at first seemed a little strange but was no bother and obviously meant that once you had finished your meal you could just leave or alternatively relocate outside to the courtyard where there was a fantastic singer on. She managed to get lots of people up dancing and everyone appeared to have a fantastic time. It did finish at 9:30 which was considerate of the other people on the site who perhaps did not want to listen to the music. Overall a great restaurant made even better by the hard working staff.More
Had lunch at the Castle Coach House last Saturday 31st July. Lovely atmosphere & surroundings. Great choice on the menu, for adults & children. Our waitress Eden was very friendly & helpful. Will definitely be back. Thanks again!
We visited here while staying at the caravan park. There were 8 of us (4 adults and 4 children under 7) and it took over 2 hours to be served our meal. Portion sizes were very small and kids meals were £7.95 each. Kids meals...came with 1 small spoonful of beans and only 3 chicken nuggets/Gounod that were very small, maybe 8 or 9 chips (no exaggeration!)so we complained and got more. Serving staff were polite and seemed to be trying hard but they were all really young girls and lacked direction. The children appeared from inside the restaurant with ice creams after we sent them in to ask for puddings we’d already ordered as we’d finished our mains for 30 mins and they came out with a small tub of ice cream each. We were then approached by staff who tried to charge us for extra for it. When we said this was clearly a misunderstanding the team leader wasn’t very understanding and quite rude. Why serve 6 year old children without asking parents? I would not recommend coming here as it is overpriced and food quality is very poor.More
I have been coming to hoddom for years, ever since I was small and the site itself is wonderful. Its a nice treat having the opportunity to take my child to one of my most favoured childhood memory places.
The camping stay we had did...not disappoint, however the the restaurant did.
We ordered 3 portions of pancakes with maple syrup and bacon all at £6.55 each.... we didn't receive a full pancake on any of the plates. It was a bit of a joke to be honest.
A full pancake that hat been quartered but for whatever reason you only received 3 of those quarters? Who munched the other one have no idea...
ONE of the kids asked for no maple syrup... that poor gal was served with the driest 3 quarters of a pancake I have ever seen and for whatever reason the request of the the singular no maple syrup resulted in it being assumed that all 3 kids didn't want bacon also. Loneliest pancakes I have seen in my puff...
Eventually we were offered a £2.25 insult I mean refund, 75p for each of our bacon's, however we were only given £1.30 of this, by this point we were beyond it and needed to leave.
It might seem like a really minor thing but between drinks and food we spent a decent amount of money there during our stay £50 on that sitting alone and the approach from management in dealing with the situation was not okay.
We are all human and mistakes happen which I fully appreciate and sympathise with however I felt like we were getting the blame for them getting our order wrong.
The toilets were nice and clean however. ✌More
