We came here on Friday 15th October for 2 nights with a family of 5 for a weekend break and was definitely not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times and the breakfast was very filling and tasty. The Family room...was very spacious and perfect for 3 kids. The bar area was great for relaxing later in the evening. Already looking forward to returning in April.More

Our first visit to the Kings Head for Sunday Lunch which was the Carvery. We found the Hotel to be warm, inviting and tastefully decorated. The Carvery was excellent as was the service and the actual restaurant. We will without doubt return and have no...hesitation in recommending such a fine venue.More

My dad and I stayed here overnight in June 21, during covid restrictions. Tom greeted us and got us all booked in then escorted us to the rooms. The rooms were perfect the beds were super soft, I had ensuite that work lovely, and all...necessary information about Wi-Fi or any other things were detailed in a booklet in the room. We also had dinner and breakfast here and both were amazing. Dinner for me was a chicken pasta dish with a creamy sauce it was gorgeous, my dad had a full roast with all of the trimmings. Both delicious both presented beautifully and came out quickly. The bar area was beautiful, obviously newly re-done with lots of love poured into it. The seats are comfortable the drinks were good the TV was on and the conversations were perfect could not fault at all. Breakfast was also perfect me and my dad ordered two full Scottish breakfast, the food was seasoned and it’s cooked beautifully. Tl;dr, The beds are comfy the room is so cosy, the atmosphere was brilliant but the most standout thing about this place was the food. could not fault it at all.More

A lovely welcome, great service and dog friendly. The bed was superbly comfortable, bed linen spotless white. Yes, the rooms need a bit of updating but this is underway. The towels are huge, fluffy and white. Sadly there isn't a chef at present so we...didn't eat dinner there but the breakfast was fantastic.More

When we arrived , we weren’t sure where to park, it turned out to be a very small what looked like a shed at the back of the pub, very difficult to park. We were shown to our room by a very pleasant young man...and advised that it could be rather busy and noisy in the bar tonight. The room was a big disappointment, quiet large, but with a very old fashioned settee that looked like it had already collapsed, we were afraid to sit on it, and two matching chairs very much in the same condition, the rest of the furniture was very old and very stained. Bathroom was ok, but the shower was very slow. Went down to book a table for our evening meal and told full in dining room, but could eat in the bar. We were not happy with this as the bar was very busy and noisy, told them to cancel our booking as we didn’t want to eat in the bar, they then put us in a lounge which was ok. A limited menu but the food was ok when it came. Breakfast was fine with plenty of choice. Would be stay again no, it needs a lot doing to it and for £90, it was way over pricedMore

We have eaten here twice in the evenings and will continue to return if the food, price and good service continues as there are limited places to eat locally within the town centre. The first meal was Rump Steak and it was a fantastic cut...of meat, cooked to perfection and at a price not to be complained about. The second visit we had the Calamari starter and the Steak & Ale pie which was again absolutely delicious and value for money. This visit we had the Lunch time special two courses which was again value for money. The crab cakes starter was fantastic and the Corned beef pie was amazing and a real fill for Lunch. Keep up the quality and keep the prices competitive and you have the opportunity to corner the local town centre market.More
