We had an opportunity for a quick short break & after a morning searching for accommodation. I called directly & managed to get 3 nights in a deluxe double room on a B&B basis that night. What a gem of a hotel we were so...warmly greeted on arrival & directed to our Huge bedroom complete with chaise longue in the bay window recess !!! Breakfasts were gloriously hearty and the restaurant menu was varied & catered for all tastes. The lovely staff were friendly & really helpful. Will certainly be back again.More

We called here hoping to get a Sunday lunch. We were welcomed and shown to a socially distanced table. Service was quick and efficient, staff were friendly and helpful. The food was hot and delicious. The dining room was beautifully decorated for country hotel. Prices...were very reasonable. We really enjoyed our visit.More

Booked a lunch on a rainy miserable Monday. Was a great choice for lots of reasons. Lovely service, food and surroundings. Well attended to without being hassled or left. Visited with friend but now looking to go with family.

One night on the way to the ferry in Cairnryan. Usually would stay in Holiday Inn Dumfries but this came out cheaper on the booking websites. And boy were we impressed! Something to be said about the hospitality and service in a locally owned establishment...compared to a hotel chain. We WILL be back for sure. We were greeted warmly and made feel most welcome. The social distancing arrangements made us feel really safe as well. Great staff and great conversation with other guests in the lounge bar. 100% recommend this hotel. Already planning to bring my mum over for a break she would love this place.More

We stayed as a family for one night, our host Brian was fantastic and very welcoming! The location was excellent and the decor fantastic, very decadent! We booked for dinner, excellent and had breakfast. Food was excellent quality and very well presented. Nice local walk...after dinner and lovely garden which the children enjoyed! Felt well managed in regards to Covid, would stay again!More

We always seem to struggle for places to eat around Lockerbie so this was a new place to sample for a family dinner. It was bustling and the service was good. We ordered a pre dinner drink and I was surprised to only be offered...Gordon's or Tanqueray when in the land of Gin production! The menu is substantial (with a few spelling errors) but I felt it had some really strange combinations on it - plaice goujons with rice AND potatoes? We were treated well and there was a nice atmosphere but it's not somewhere that I would be bothered about going back to.More
