We're local and have eaten here before, but it appears there are issues all round that means we're unlikely to go again. We turned up 10 mins before our table booking and despite the restaurant being open and virtually empty, were told we couldn't sit down then and must go to the bar for a drink first. Ok, not the... We booked this for lunch when taking my elderly mum out for Saturday lunch We ate off the set price menu. We were disappointed with the size of portion. The service was good and the staff were friendly and helpful.

A taster dinner for Valentines week was as usual excellent and good value at £25 a head for five courses.

Have enjoyed eating here on at least 10 occasions - so they must be doing something right. Apart from the car parking, have always found it be an enjoyable occasion with good service and food.

I checked into the kings arms recently in my partners name and was unable to park in the "car park" , which is essentially a layby. I was assured by the sullen manager that the staff would move the cars should I need to untrap my car from the squashed in mass of cars - however when I asked staff... More

The food itself was faultless but the rest wasn't great. We were given two tiers of cakes and sandwiches to share between 10 people. When we asked if we could have another as it was clearly not enough we were told we had booked for 8 people even though we had paid in advance a deposit for 10. After a... More

Joined friends to try out the 15-mile menu. The food was excellent as was the service. I had the mackerel Nicoise as a starter, which was a meal in itself followed by the comfit of duck. I must say that our waiter, Tim, was highly attentive, even going to the trouble to make me a proper Mocha coffee after I... More

No reception desk. Evening meal was a very big let down. But as the price was included in the package there was know refund. Housekeeping very good. Parking difficult.
