We regularly go to The Amberwood for lunch and always receive a genuinely warm welcome from all the staff. All meals are freshly cooked to order, we enjoy the variety and seasonal menu variations on offer. We eat out a lot and have visited this restaurant for many years eating either from the set menu or a la carte.

I have eaten on a Sunday quite a few times...Good food, average prices. Service can be a bit intermittant but overall good. Beer is quite good too....can recommend.

My wife and I made a late decision to eat out last Sunday evening and rang a few minutes in advance to book a table. They were still serving roast dinners but we both opted for main meals off the specials blackboard including steak & kidney suet pudding in a rich gravy with sautéed potatoes and a lovely mixture of... I visited this pub for quite a few hours, as it was chosen by a friend for a post-funeral 'wake' reception and we then returned later for an evening meal. Firstly, it does seem to be quite a popular local pub, with a good selection of ales, i.e. Tanglewood, Badger, but must also certainly be popular for its food. We... More

We went for a meal here a few months ago and raved about it. So we returned this evening for a repeat performance . The venue is still clean and smart. The staff are cheerful and efficient. The food sadly did not match our expectations. Last time it was exemplary. This time it was just...Good. If you have a taste... More

I treated my partner to a birthday dinner on a Thursday evening and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We have eaten in the bar several times but never in the restaurant. The food was extremely good - which we thought it would be as the lunchtime bar food is always spot on. My partner had the home-made soup and... More

Our friend had a lovely Lasagne there. Homemade and very tasty. The Gammon steaks however were a bit overcooked and small.

Excellent all round. The two lovely waitresses gave great service and were very friendly. My mum and I had roast dinner which was lovely. Seven veg variety on the plate and I had the trio of meat. Lamb, beef & turkey which was perfect. The price was very reasonably will visit again when I'm in the area.

No problems at all with the staff or the timings of drinks etc in fact thought we were in for a really nice celebratory evening. My husband ordered the sea bream which although well cooked and presented was over priced however he was happy. I ordered the Thai red curry which at best could be described as a tasteless watery... This is a local pub with the attendant hustle and bustle. The restaurant to one side is quiet and clean. The staff are pleasant and sometimes attentive. There is an adequate menu that offers customers a simple range of options sensibly priced.
