When we last visited Callander, the cafe at the Atrium was a very pleasant self-service restaurant. Now it has been "upgraded" to table service only, with what we think is a pretty pretentious, more expensive menu. It's now far too pretentious for a cafe inside a outdoor clothing shop. I'm sorry to see the old cafe go, and I'm afraid... More

My wife and I called in today 16/03/17, on entering the waitress was very pleasant and sat us at window seat. Ordered the special (2 courses) for £10 and one other main meal. The food was good. Service was excellent and staff all very pleasant. Would go back again when in Callendar.

We were in today for lunch which was lovely, only to be shocked to see a staff member drinking milk out of the stainless steel jug he had just used to serve coffee to a customer. He then added more milk and carried on with someone elses order.....

Management response:

Hi Christine, thanks for your review,. The chap who was making coffees yesterday "smells the milk" to make sure it isn't scorched as some folks like extra hot latte which can be tricky to do without over heating the milk. The milk tastes and smells like horlix,. not nice... Hope this puts your mind at rest, we would never drink... More

This restaurant has been taken over by a different company. It is nice and airy with new tables and chairs and waiter service. We have frequented this many a time under the previous owners. We went in today but were disappointed. We only had coffee, tea and a cake. It is £3 for a cake but portions are huge. We... More

Management response:

Hello Inez, im sorry to hear you were disappointed at the "huge" but hard rocky road,. the bar staff put the cake in the chill, which shouldn't have happened, never the less i would have liked to have taken it off your bill,. if you can send me your email address i can forward you a voucher to visit us... Café Circa is located on the 1st floor, The welcome was warm and friendly, a good choice of food, well prepared and served. The soup was almost a meal in it's self.

We like circa at the antiques centre in Doune because of their GF options, so decided to try Circa at the Atrium. 1st visit since they have taken it over. What a difference! The furniture is all new, very tasteful and nicely set-up. Dog-friendly area with dog beds and bowls. Lovely coffee and a delicious GF apple and almond pie... More

We have been regular customers of the previous incarnations of this café, and wish this new version well. Staff were friendly and service was prompt, although they couldn't remember what was on the specials board. Enjoyed the fish and chips. The choice of puddings was either sticky pudding or else ice cream with any of the cakes - it would... More

I have been to the Atrium many times and thought this was a tea room. Went in and found a hidden gem. The decor is very nice and the staff are lovely . The food was great very tasty and the cost reasonable. It will be a place I will now visit next time I am in the area.

A very friendly welcome and then given the menu with a great explanation of the special risotto. We had to try it and it indeed was special. Nicely furnished, very comfortable and welcoming to dogs, even if it is a little on the expensive side.

Went in for a late morning coffee and was pleasantly surprised. Great menu with gorgeous cakes and speciality coffees etc. The service was great with lovely staff. They also treated our little girl very well and we were pleased to see it was dog friendly. Food came quickly and prices were very good. To be recommended

Description
Cafe Circa at the Atrium is a smart table service licenced restaurant, newly refurbished and spacious with comfortable seating and couches. The relaxing warm dining room has a great ambiance and nice views of Ben Ledi and the Crags. The food is freshly prepared and cooked to order, gluten free dining is the norm not the exception. Our menu is small and seasonal, guaranteed fresh. We use quality meats from an award winning local butcher and fresh Scottish landed fish from award winning local fish monger. The Home baking is done in-house daily and won a Scottish baking award last year.
