Not able to recommend this venue as we've had an excellent meal and then an extremely poor one. Service can be slow.

We ate here for 2 nights and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the evening meals. The grilled chicken with roasted vegetables was very good indeed (and very healthy!) Staff were attentive and helpful and a wide range of beers were on offer. The Boat Inn had a great atmosphere with a wide range of customers.

We were extremely disappointed to be turned away from this quiet restaurant, because dogs only allowed in public bar and children in restaurant. Misleading on sign and website.

Been here a few times as I lived in the area . Good food and service. Price is highish though, but abedeenshire has always been pricey. Anyway very good and worth stopping in past

We have recently moved to Aboyne and wanted to check out the local area. My parents were up from home and we went to the Boat Inn for a meal and it didn't disappoint. Fabulous setting, delicious food and fantastic staff. The wine was perfect too. Looking forward to going back on Friday x

My friends and I stopped in for breakfast before a hike up nearby Mt Keen. We all ordered the full cooked breakfast which arrived in a timely manner. Bacon, fried egg, sausages, tomatoes, black pudding and potato scone - all top quality produce and just what was needed. Great service and friendly staff, a real asset to Aboyne.

A very popular place for all age groups. Set beside the river it offers good parking and easy access. The restaurant is up market pub style but can be a bit noisy when full. There is a good menu at reasonable prices and the food was well cooked and presented. We had the roast beef and fish and hand cut... More

This is a very nice place to eat. There is a pub style menu with something for everyone. Special dietary requirements are well catered for. The prices are reasonable, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is served quickly and tastes great.

I had visited the Boat Inn twice for dinner while on a business trip. The first night was so good that I had to go back. It was busy when my partner and I arrived so we could only be sat at the bar, which was fine and the service was super fast. Food arrived in good time too, burger... More
