The tea & coffee was alright but that was about it. We ordered 3 bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches and a sausage sandwich. The food didn't take that long to arrive, maybe it should! The bread was so thickly buttered you couldn't taste the filling, mind the fact there was more butter than filling probably had something to do with... More

Miserable rainy day in N-u-L, mum desperate for a coffee and to warm up after shopping all morning, almost missed this lovely place in the horizontal rain! Ducked in, to be greeted by the lovely owner, brought menus and asked if we'd like drinks whilst we sorted ourselves out. Skinny lattes ordered and menus explored. We both decided on hot... More

Coffee ok but nothing special. Would have liked the fact that everything was homemade and freshly prepared but apparently not so - on visiting another eatery in Newcastle I noticed there was a delivery of soup which was for Michelangelos and it had been delivered to the wrong address!! How difficult is it to knock up a lovely homemade soup... More

I had a cappuccino here once and it was really delicious! I hope to get a chance to try the menu there as I'm sure it would be just as good!

Visited Cafe Michaelangelo today and had a Coffee and sandwich, pleasant atmosphere and friendly relaxed staff. Waitress (curly hair!) was happy and with a lovely smile which made the experience for me! Excellent food served by I presume the Chef? - seemed to be just two people working there today but service was prompt, friendly and with a smile all... More

My coffee was weak, far to hot, coffee burnt. Food was cold, had to wait a long time, just picked at it!! That old man should retire, he cant handle pressure. Catering is the wrong job for him, i would sack him if he worked for me. What happened to the Irish girl? Standards have dropped, why she's not there?... More

This is the first review that I have ever left on here but I feel passionately about sharing my bad experience. Not only was the owner rude to myself but also other customers that came in to the premises too. This is not acceptable at all and I will not be visiting again and neither will my friends. Not good... More

Visited this Bistro last Saturday 31 May. Food was excellent. I had garlic mushrooms and parmesan to start followed by cod loin with a tomato and chorizo sauce and sweet potato chips - it was so delish I didn't want it to end. My husband had the scotch egg to start with followed by a burger which he said was... More

Just expanded from what was a coffee shop, there is a sensibly limited menu which means that the food is freshly cooked, with attention to local sourcing of ingredients. The rearrangement of the furniture allows for more customers, but at present it is fairly quiet. Once people realise the quality of the food and the reasonable prices, I'm sure this... More
