My friend and I dined here after a horrific day in the snow. The restaurant is lovely, modern decor and a gorgeous view of the lake and village. Food was lovely, slightly on the pricier side, but not breaking the bank. Staff were friendly and...More

So I've been here a few time before. We called last minute and got a table for 4. On arrival we were told our table would be in the bar area. The food was great. But it was not peaceful or relaxed. There was no...More

Thank you for your review. We try to separate our restaurant and large party areas from the bar area as this is probably one of the most popular bars in Bowness and has a very lively atmosphere - people love this and come time and...More

Village Inn! Only had a beer but priced at £4.50 for a pint of real ale from a local brewery seems excessive as the most we paid anywhere else in the village was £3.90 for other real ales!More

Thank you for your review. The price of beer depends on the ABV as the higher the ABV the higher the tax payable. The beer we had on up until this week was 4.6% so of course this is going to be more expensive than...More

Visited today for an early Mother’s Day lunch. We have a boat moored on Windermere and having tried many places I find the Village Inn is consistently great. Good food, ambience and the staff cannot do enough for you. I’d recommend the hanging kebabs and...More

On out second day at Windermere we called in for a drink or two - what a lovely find. Decor was to die for with buddahs and old style candle holders and the bar itself was modern and classy. Bar staff were friendly and welcoming...More

It’s eclectic for sure and you’re sat on garden furniture, inside which is good but strange. The rest of the ambience is good and it’s relaxed with friendly welcomes and attentive service. The majority of the staff are smartly dressed in all black but for...More

It is a shame that a person can give a review such as this and share it with others. There is certainly no empire involved in the Village Inn. The food is obviously of a high standard as I know that there are plenty of...More

Called in on a bitterly cold morning to thaw out with a coffee, saw the food being served and decided that bacon butties were needed too! The sourdough roll was crunchy and warm and the bacon well done. Can recommend.

It was fine for lunch at the beginning of November, and they were serving a large group in a separate room at the time, as well as quite a few tables in the main room.
