Staff at the Royal Oak, suggesting a place by the fire on a cold evening. Portions were of a good size. The hotpot was delicious and Cajun chicken wrap very filling. The mulled wine was great to keep out the November cold. Well worth a visit.

What a lovely real Pub this is!!! Plenty of choice of Real Ale & wines, very friendly, knowledgeable (they know their ales!!!) and welcoming staff and a good open fire too. We enjoyed lunch here too on one visit, which was in my opinion great value and plentiful!!

Spent a few nice afternoons here, even though it was summer the weather was awful so they had a roaring fire. Decently priced menu, better than expected food. Newspapers to read (for me always a welcome touch). Dog friendly. Great staff.

Real ale pub. Relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of choice. Food was available and looked tasty although we didn't eat. Staff welcoming.

We called in here has it was just a short walk from our B and B. The whole pub was warm and very welcoming. We had already booked a meal elsewhere but wish we had booked here for traditional pub grub. Only thing that bothers me about all the pubs is that they let dogs in even when there is... More

A typical pub really, nothing to set it apart from most others. Decent selection of real ale, lots of tables and chairs, a real fire and a decent atmosphere. I was full of cold and the heat from the fire made me feel worst so we sat out in the beer garden which doubles up as the car park and... More

Stayed here for 3 nights, husband said it was the best breakfast he had ever had while visiting England ! Evening meal was lovely as well . Staff were helpful and friendly , we enjoyed being able to nip downstairs in the evening and sit by the fire with a pint . Rooms are cleaned daily and the bed was... More

We called in after a long wet walk. Lovely welcoming bar and staff. Good beer and excellent hot chocolate.
