We were visiting Durham, and fancied a cuppa and my son had missed breakfast, but we didn't want to go to a coffee house, we were looking for something more traditional, and then we found ...Treats... Funny little stairs, and then a quite large clean room, behind a door. Member of staff was quick to politely greet us and offer any... More

Directly opposite Krispy Kreme donuts and up a flight of narrow stairs. Open early morning unlike other cafes in Durham which was a bonus for us. We had pancakes with maple syrup and bacon which were delicious. Coffees were good too. There is a good range of god options and staff were helpful too. Give it a go 🙂

The quiches were warmed served with salad and coleslaw plus a choice of sandwiches. Two lovely cakes accompanied the scone too. Only shame was the packet of jam and the artificial cream in... More

This café was busy at breakfast time, a popular café. We had an excellent choice and didn't wait long for our meals. The restaurant is interestingly decorated with some beautiful lights and interesting pictures.

We have visited Treats for breakfast on a number of occasions while visiting family. We paid two breakfast visits on a recent trip to Durham, and we weren't disappointed on either occasion. An excellent, and flexible, choice of breakfasts accommodated the differing tastes of our group, and we all enjoyed them tremendously.

I'm often inclined to support local businesses (instead of chains) and so tried this tea room. While obviously very busy (I had to wait for a seat), I was welcomed by a friendly face and soon given a table. Enjoyed my snack and coffee and would recommend to visitors. My only gripe was the squeaking door that is probably fixed... More
