Had high tea for sisters birthday- lovely fresh sandwiches, great cakes and coffee. Was a wet windy day but cafe very busy, you don't need book high tea but need to book afternoon tea. Would definitely return - best tomato chutney I've tasted!

A tea shop which refuses to compromise on quality. The joy and knowledge is apparent from the staff as they talk about the varied array of teas on offer. It looks like a place for bus-trippers but in reality they take the quality of tea and cake in Durham to a new level. Everything in the shop has a hand... More

My friends and I come here whenever we needed a quick lunch. This is a pretty busy little tea room near the bridge, so sometimes it could get a little too intimate between guests. The hearty soups and sandwiches are yummy and just filling enough. The cakes we had recently however were very average. The service is always good and... More

This place feels like an authentic tea shop rather than one of the large chains. It is clean and nicely decorated and has extremely friendly and welcoming staff. The teas are excellent and there is the good range you would expect. Scones are also very good and fresh. It is well located at the bottom end of Elvet Bridge. I... More

Hi It's pretty simple when it comes to afternoon tea and scones or cake. A good choice of teas, scones that are fresh and not heavy, jam that is flavourful and cakes that are moist! We didnt have cake but they all looked divine and I can vouch for the Durham brew tea if you like yours strong and the... More

Popped in for tea and cake and was delighted with both! Huge range of teas to choose from and a delicious selection of homemade cakes to go with them. Need to go back for one of their high teas to see if they're as good as they looked. The nicest thing was the friendly welcome from the staff who seemed... More
