This is a great haunt for food in Durham, in a pleasant setting. It's a nice spot for breakfast and the fresh-mint tea always leaves me wondering why I don't make tea like that at home. The only thing that slightly irritated me was I...More

Best food we have had for ages. Relaxed place & unpretentious. (Do visit the loo!) Sarah one of the nicest waitresses you could hope to get.

We went there for lunch today. We had the soup of the day (celeriac) and my husband also had the cheese sandwich. The food was very good. I will strongly recommend it. Just bear in mind it might be a bit of a wait to...More

This is a great little spot just minutes from the cathedral and castle. There was a 10 minute wait for a table for two, but it was worth it. Our waitress was very polite and quite charming. We had a nice table by the window...More

Coffee is quite good but size wasn't as big as I was expecting so be prepared to order 2 if you're staying a while. Food and cakes are very tasty.

I thought I will have a quick coffee and soup. The quick turned out to be a long wait because of the queue. The mocha was great though.

Popped in for a decent cup of coffee. The coffee is good but the sizes are pretty small so you need 2 ;-) The cakes are enormous and so tasty

Nice enough place but excruciatingly slow service rather spoiled the overall experience for us. I would not rush back.

Called at this place recently for breakfast whilst staying in Durham - and boy are we glad we did! Only a short wait for a table to be cleared in their lovely light, airy dining room where we were served by really nice friendly staff....More

smallish place, great staff, simple food of excellent quality. The tea could be hotter, suggest warming the post before making the tea, the teapots are heavy, perhaps they absorb the heat, but I wouldn't let this stop me going back.
