A proper, traditional country pub with good food and a lively friendly atmosphere. Fish and chips for two and a bottle of wine on Fridays for twenty pounds is good value, but booking a table may avoid a wait.

This was my local for forty years. Have not been in for 12years and will not be going in again. Tried 2 different beers and left them both. At £3:50 a pint they must be joking ! Have not eaten here but now never will.

Must of been a dozen times with various menus and everything is great. Service is spot on, nice quite atmosphere, with a log fire and the food is about the best you can find in wigan.

It's a nice cosy pub, log burning fires and a nice atmosphere. BUT, it's infuriating when you get a less than ice cold bottled beer. There is simply no excuse for such incompetence. Note to manager : train your staff property or turn your fridges...More

Visited here for the first time this week and returned for the second time tonight! Beautiful old building, friendly staff and amazing food! On both occasions the food arrived at a ridiculous speed and food was off a great quality. Hidden gem for those looking...More

Description
Fabulous Home cooked food in a 17th century inn with excellent wines and quality cask ales, roaring fires in winter, stunning beer garden in the summer. One of the best little pubs in Lancashire!
