My favourite Indian restaurant! We always come here on birthdays/special occasions as the food is great. I love the tapas and the chicken tikka mossala is the best I've ever had. It tastes totally different to every other restaurant but in a good way! Every meal I've had here has been lovely.

Popped back in for the first time in a little while for a takeaway. I know sometimes a takeaway lacks the oomph of eating in, but this was lovely. Lovely touch in cooking the naan and chapatis just before we collected so they were fresh when we got back....I did indulge in a pint whilst waiting. It was pretty busy... More

We had a wonderful meal at the Ahar last week. I promised to post a good review but only just got round to it. I am on a diet, but I also wanted to be a bit adventurous, so I had a salmon curry. Although listed as 'medium', it wasn't very fiery, but it was full of flavour nonetheless. My... More

Another fantastic takeaway from the Ahar! Have been going here for our takeaways and sitting in, probably over 10 years. Since Fiz took over a few years ago the food has improved to yet another level. Try other places but 'always return' as the best massala sauce ever! If in doubt Fiz always recommends an alternative or will even cook... More

Decided to give this place a try after reading some reviews sadly can't agree with many. Onion bhaji dry and tasteless, main course of ghost kori full of fat sauce terrible with no flavour, chicken tikka Baltic swimming in oil and again no flavour. Chapatis barely cooked and bland. Really unable to recommend would be 1 star if it were... More

Hi O11ie5tyles "CHAPPATIS BLAND" any connoisseur of Indian/Bangladeshi food is well aware that when eating a chappati they don't expect a explosion of tantalising flavours rather the subtle taste of chappati is what makes it unique. Ingredient of a chappati (WHOLEMEAL PLAIN FLOUR) small amount of cold water Based on your comment on the chappati being bland I don't feel... More

We have been going to this restaurant for several years, quality has always been outstanding. That is food and service, Fiz current owner has remarkable understanding of people's individual taste. And never failed to serve the most delicious food which is both beautifully cooked and very well presented. We have introduced both friends and family, who have also enjoyed wonderful... More

I've visited Ahar on many occasions and I'm always impressed by the quality of the food and service. The vegetarian food is some of the best I've eaten, delicious food, well worth a visit.

I've been eating at Ahar since the first day it opened.... that's a long time ago and in that it tells you they do things there to please the discerning diner with a love for 'Asian' food. Vis, the current proprietor, has followed on from previous family members and with the aid of a great team that includes in my... More
