The farm is a hidden gem. We found it by accident and were blown away. The hosts were so friendly, the atmosphere relaxed and the food was beyond expectations. The hosts and the chef, cook, etc went out of their way to make it feel like a real Sunday home cooked roast. Thank you.

Had an absolutely lovely breakfast in a group of 16 including several fussy children. They asked us to pre order due to the size of the group, and our food was with us very promptly after we arrived. The quality of the food was top notch, beautifully prepared and and we all exclaimed over how delicious the bacon was - it was truly exceptional. Coffee was served in a cafetiere and the hot drinks were included in the price of the meals. The service was completely friendly, helpful and sociable. The only possible issue we had was that they accepted only cash which we weren't ready for, but after negotiating with the kids to loan some of their holiday money it all worked out OK.

We visited for Sunday Lunch and were not disappointed. The surroundings were warm and inviting and we felt like we had been invited to Sunday Lunch with old friends. The food was fresh tasty and in abundance! Excellent quality farmhouse food which was clearly homemade. The hosts were friendly and you could tell they enjoyed welcoming us to enjoy their food. We were only in the area a few days having visited from Cambridgeshire but if we had more time we would have returned.

This was our first visit to Comyn Farm for the Sunday Roast. From the minute you walk in it feels like one big happy family, each and everyone of the staff are very welcoming and the food was delicious and plentiful. Nobody will walk away hungry, we had the beef and the pheasant which was served with peas, carrots, red cabbage, broccoli&cauliflower cheese, leeks, stuffing, pigs in blankets and roast potatoes. An overall lovely experience by this wonderful local family.

Had a phenomenal Christmas Party event with 28 people enjoying great farm-house style hospitality and wonderful food. The food was served hot!!! very flavourful with plenty to eat (great portions)... nothing was too much to ask and the friendly and professional staff (and owners) could not be more accommodating Great value for money and a must for booking small and large groups! Everyone really enjoyed their time and the venue is nothing but superb! Thank you Lisa & Martin and staff for a great event, fabulous service and making memories!

We ate here today (20/02) as a group of 6 adults and 2 kids. The food was excellent, truly great quality home cooked food. The owners and all the ‘staff’ we met were so friendly, polite and helpful, and great with the kids at the table. The food came out within about 10 mins of us ordering and was steaming hot! The dining room was also very warm and cosy, despite the horrid wind and rain outside. As a vegetarian, I’m always worried about going for a roast and being served up the same old dry nut roast but today was the total opposite. Full of flavour and enjoyed by the meat eaters too! Plus I had my own portion of vegetarian gravy. The pork and beef got big thumbs up from the rest of the party, and all the food was gone by the end of the meal. Plenty big portions, BYOB but they also have some drinks on offer both alcoholic and none alcoholic. We had a taste of all deserts, each one as good as the next. We’ve lived in Ilfracombe for nearly a year and this was our first visit, but 100% will not be our last! (There are no signs to the farm, but trust your gut (and follow your nose) down the road past Chambercombe Manor and you’ll come out in front of the farmhouse.)

Each time we visit Ilfracombe we always have Sunday lunch at the farm which is superb. Once you find it, it has a rustic friendly atmosphere. They offer a choice of roasts and a vegetarian option if you let them know. The food is great & plentiful and the home cooked desserts are delicious (I love their pavlova). This year we discovered they are also offering a couple of early evening bbq’s. We had some friends join us in ilfracombe so trying to find a table for 9 when every restaurant in town is full was impossible. This was such a good find. They cooked us chicken tandoori or lemon & herb, salad & chips which was great. It was like arriving at a friends house for dinner, relaxed home cooking. We could eat in or out depending on the weather. Was a real hit with everyone. Elvis even made an appearance!

Came across this place whilst staying at a local resort. It’s nothing fancy, it’s not posh. However it’s good honest home cooked Sunday Roast. Martin, Lisa and family provide the most welcoming environment and are great hosts. The menu is simple for the Sunday roast on offer today was Roast Beef, Roast Turkey and a vegan nut roast. This was accompanied by the most wonderful vegetables, Carrots, Peas, Red Cabbage, Cauliflower & Broccoli Cheese and Leeks. Served with Roast Potatoes. Also on Offer was a selection of Desserts I had the Pear Crumble & custard. My partner had the Fruit Pavlova. You can bring your own alcohol or they have a selection available for you. This experience was like stepping into their home and having a Sunday Roast. Two things to note, because of internet and signal take cash, also keep following the track to get here it’s hidden away. That said it’s somewhere we will return too each time we stay in the area. Such good value for Money. Thank you Martin & Lisa.

We booked for Sunday lunch for two families and two dogs. Very friendly welcome on arrival especially the dogs! The service was perfect. It was quick, personal and professional. We were asked on several occasions whether we needed anything and Martin the chef also came out more than once to check on his guests. The food was excellent with local produce being key. I can imagine this place is even better in the summer as the location with the outside seating would be stunning. We left with full tummies for our walk back to the seafront which was only 20 mins. We will definitely be back again soon. Thank you.

A rural lane, albeit only a short distance from the town, brings you to the farm. 14 of us dined there on a Sunday afternoon in nearly December. Everything about the meal was great, food, staff , choice and all at a very reasonable price. The best thing, however, was, for want of a better word, the ambience. It was so relaxed, pleasant and unhurried and put me in the mind of village restaurants my family and I used to visit in the hills around Madrid. while we were living there. So very un-English and a pure joy just to be in such a place. A marvellous experience provided by brilliant people.

I had read reviews and decided to book Sunday lunch for the four of us. I had driven from Durham over 2 days. I wasn't disappointed and I would advise to book. Beef and turkey was on offer and 2 of us had beef and 2 had turkey. We were all delighted by delicious meal. Scrumptious. Lots of vegetables and beautiful roast potatoes. We had sherry trifle and pavola for dessert. We all agree it well presented and very tasty. We would book again. Although thing I would say to the owners better directions to secret place and beware of limited parking spaces and it was more of track than a road.

We were camping near by to the farm and booked for breakfast which was delicious. Best bacon I have eaten in a long time and the freshest eggs all served with real attention to detail. Very hospitable hosts and great service. So impressed we also went for a fantastic barbecue on our last evening. Home produced meats and salads from the garden were on offer. Highly recommended this place if you are staying in or near Ilfracombe.

Thank you so much to Lisa and Martin for accommodating our family of 10 plus baby and dog. We were in Devon on a family holiday and chose Comyn farm based on reviews on trip advisor. We were not disappointed with the quality of food, portion sizes and value for money. The hosts were attentive and very friendly making feel part of the family. We will return if we are ever in this area again. Thank you Jane and family

Unique and extraordinarily friendly, this restaurant seems effortlessly to provide memorable meals with brilliant service and an utterly authentic farmer's kitchen environment . The place also has an excellent wine list and all is provided at a very reasonable price. Without a car it's a good old walk from the town of Ilfracombe but it is certainly worth it (and there is plenty of parking). I will remember this meal and the experience for many years yet.

We saw the fantastic reviews on trip advisor for comyn farm and booked for a roast dinner while we were away on our break and we were not disappointed. We had the mixed roast of pork and beef which came with a pig in a blanket and a yorkie pud, with it we were served carrots and peas, courgettes from their garden which were delicious, roast potatoes that were perfect, beetroot, cauliflower and broccoli cheese and extra gravy, it was all absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was so friendly and relaxed, I only wish we lived locally so we could visit regularly.
