Just paid £2.30 for a coffee in a small polystyrene cup and £2.20 for bakewell tart on polystyrene plate! Wasn't expecting plastic cutlery either. Shameful and poor value. If it's because it was busy as it was the war weekend, well everywhere else managed decent crockery!

I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the lack of crockery and cutlery over the War Weekend. This was because we have not got the washing up facilities to cope with the huge numbers of customers on this one weekend in the year. I think you would have found a similar story in other cafes in Pickering. Please... More

My family and I visted this tea room while on holiday. We had a long wait and when the waitress took our order, she informed us that lots of things on the menu where unavailable. The tea was luke warm and very stewed. The lettuce was starting to go brown on the edges. We all felt like an inconvenience to... More

Visited for lunch whilst waiting for the Flying Scotsman to arrive at the adjacent station. The cafe was busy but not packed. The menu arrived promptly and the waiter arrived to take our order. I opted for the roast ham sandwich on white bread. When it arrived I was very disappointed. "plastic" reformed ham that was not roast ham, and... More
