This little traditional restaurant was a real find for us yesterday lunchtime. We didn’t know what to expect, but wow what a find. The welcome was so warm and friendly. After 2 wonderful weeks in this glorious region of France we arrived at Les Remparts for a family meal. We sat down to eat at 8.15pm. By 9.54pm we were still waiting for our main course. The only communication we received was from we believe...the owner at 9.30 to say ours would be out next. 25 minutes later still nothing. My 13 year old daughter posed the question “are they lying to us?”. So I went inside and politely said my children had waited almost 2 hours and still no food, that I was happy to pay for drinks and go. Again we were told our meal was on its way. Where from I wonder!! So we put 20euros on the table and left. If you have kids and want a great French restaurant to visit here steer clear of Les Remparts. Having worked in restaurants in Soho in London where 180 people were fed by 3 chefs in 90 minutes I know what a restaurant should look like - Les Remparts is a shambles.More
We have eaten four times in last month and will return, every meal has been great. We have taken friends also from Australia. The local wines are excellent and the husband and wife team are fantastic
Found Les Remparts by accident but what a find! Lovely people, welcoming and great service. The meal of red mullet, chicken and chocolate tart was amazing! I would definitely go back again.

We were greeted by Leonie, she spoke good english so that was great. We ate there twice and had the 3 course lunch special and it was superb. Especially the deserts.
Extremely efficient service, delightful food - and marvellous value. A great place to sit and watch , as well as admire the professional and lightening pace of the servers as they deal with three different "rooms" and dozens of customers. Will return.
Had the plat du jour. smoked salmon blinis and caviar followed by sea bass and cheesecake. 28 euros. Excellent value and great service
Les Remparts is a long-established restaurant in Clermont l'Herault, but quite inexplicably this was my first visit. I was not disappointed. Set at the top of the marketplace, there's a lovely atmosphere - whether for a quick coffee on a busy Wednesday morning in between...market shopping, or for a relaxed lunch on the terrace. Service was good and efficient and all in our group were pleased with their meals. Food was tasty and nicely presented and the lunchtime menu is very reasonably priced. This is not fine dining, but good honest fare. Will make sure I go back again soon.More
We sat outside, despite the slightly gusty conditions, and enjoyed a thoroughly excellent lunch. The dishes were ample for lunch, looked appetising and tasted just as good. The deserts were fabulous - can't wait to go back!
The servers were very welcoming, the portions were just right and the food was delicious. Prices are very reasonable. One of the best places to eat in Clermont.
This is our favourite place to eat in Clermont L'Herault, the food is always good, well presented and the owners are delightful. We were last there 13th September and the food was delicious as always.
Visited this evening and really enjoyed the food. Soupe de Poisson excellent as were the oysters which my daughter ordered. Great cuts of meat cooked well for the main course - I had sea bass which was cooked perfectly. The chocolate fondant for dessert ended...a perfect meal. The service was very efficient with translations given where necessary. Overall a great experience well worth a visit.More
At a time when much of French cuisine seems to have lost its way, or is trying too hard to be Asian influenced, fusion or whatever, It is delightful and almost unexpected to find a French restaurant serving assured French food...with panache and style. A...lunch time. post market visit allowed us to enjoy a delicious and well made pate of foie, and a well constructed Pastilla of duck. An indulgent chocolate tart was pudding, and as the Menu du Jour cost the princely sum of 14 euros ( Other choices were also available). The house Rose is light and good for lunch, and the atmosphere was tremendous...with shoppers, market traders and regulars mingling happy. The young owners are clearly passionate about what they do, and they should be truly proud of what they are achieving. Les Remparts is exactly the sort of restaurant you hope to find in France, and so often don't!. Thank you to the chef who understands good ingredients and to the Maitre (esse) D, who made us so welcome. These Remparts will stand for a long time!!More
