First appearances give the wrong impression

The menu has pizza as a prominent option, plastic menus and advertising on its placemats. I didn't have high expectations, then... Service was efficient and friendly Cocktails were good. We has some tapas for a starter - not of which were remotely Spanish, but all of which were really good. My wife had a pizza that was excellent and I had roast veal which I was impressed by. Limited wine list but the Rosé we had was good. Excellent value for money, good atmosphere and a good night out.

Altogether a lovely place to go

Everything served was fresh, interesting and presented attractively. Staff were friendly and prices reasonable.Great place to have an enjoyable outing.

Not sure about it at first but pleasantly surprised.

This place is halfway between a restaurant and a high-class café. I was not sure about the menu at first and could not really find anything I really fancied despite having read the many good reviews on here. There is a great range of Tapas, Entrées, Pizzas and burgers - I settled for a Cabri Burger - what a choice! The best tasting meat in a burger I have had in many years, excellently char-grilled. We also had the foie which was to die for! Gloriously creamy and delicious. Served at the perfect temperature, not just out of the fridge. For desserts, we were spoiled for choice but opted for our favourite of the moment - Café gourmand which was perfect.

Disappointed

Have been coming here for years but the choice of foods is veering to fast food. My wife would have liked prawns but they were served with pasta which my wife can't eat, we asked if it was possible to substitute rice but got no help so she chose lamb chops which were so tough and full of tendons she could only eat about a quarter, she had some of my ratatouille from my dish of tuna, which was quite good, but when she complained was just told sorry would you like a dessert, which we would of had to pay for. Service wasn't bad but they weren't interested in complaints. Very disappointing visit, won't be returning on subsequent trips.

La Bodega and La Bodegita - both really good

We have been to both this summer and pleasantly surprised by both: friendly and efficient staff, lovely food and very decent prices. We would recommend them without reservations .

Good food and ambience

Nice to see that food can be better than average and at a fair price. Will return. We enjoyed the duck and lamb. The deserts were good. Great ice cream. BTW if they ask you in France how do you like your duck note that rare seems to mean raw , medium means pretty bloody well done means cooked

Evening Out with the Kids

Good solid fare served in the most traditional of settings on the terrace overlooking the main drag. We came early so got a table however they were turning people away which is always a good sign. Do consider making a reservation. Beware the big portions especially for the kids. It was pizza the next day.

Average food - pleasant staff

After reading the reviews we were looking forward to our meal at La Bodega, but we were disappointed. Steak was mostly fat, duck salad had very little duck and was mostly lettuce.

Fantastic food, top service and value for money.

We had dinner here twice when we were in the region and we were very enthousiastic about this restaurant. The waiters were very helpful and friendly, also efficient and worked very hard, and the food is really delicious. But take care, the rations of the salads are big! When you are not eating a lot, better share one! The atmosphere is also cosy and you will really enjoy your meal when going there!

Chance visit

We stopped in as liked the look from the outside and had plenty of choice. Didn't realise it was so popular and most tables were booked. Very friendly staff and delicious food (albeit it not the cheapest). The salads are huge, nowhere near to finishing it.

Good food. Original menu. Good choice of enfant menu (home made nuggets, pizza, steak hache etc..) Staff is kind but with lack of memory. I ask for 3 times go get a glass of vine

The Bodegita is a simple, delicious, friendly guinguette on the bord of Lac du Salagou. The food is top quality, the presentation is beautiful, the originality and creativity is elegant. All at a reasonable price.

lucky to get a table

A stop over on our trip to Marseille, Small choice of restaurants , choose this one as it had a very varied menu, reserved a table , good job we did as people were being turned away later. We choose an assortment of things which were all freshly cooked and very tasty. Very relaxed place with good service. Enjoyed a bottle of local red wine . We both felt it was great value. Did not like the town but no problem at all with the restaurant.

I ordered some tapas: fried little fish and calamares. Little fish were delicious, though very salty. Calamares was is long parts, not rings. So not that fresh. My friends had a hamburgers. Chicken was wel cooked, but burger was drie. The beef burger was not cooked enough, blood stil ran out of it. Ok for lunch.

Well Worth the Visit

You do need to book, however we managed to get a table inside. As others have noted staff are good, food arrived promptly and was excellent. Food a mix of simple French and Italian with some excellent homemade burgers too boot. Very reasonably priced including the drinks. I will be visiting again.
