Very busy but the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. BUT there were two white dogs loose in the dining room going up to tables and begging for food. I think it is disgusting to have dogs in any dining room where people...More

Visited with family and a dog on a Saturday evening, we were sat at a table in the bar area. The chicken breast in leek sauce was particularly good as were the burgers from the specials board. This place serves food which is a cut...More

Vegan wife pre-checked options prior to booking and was impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff: the chef came to chat to her about the various options and what could be veganised. The pub is very friendly and welcoming from the moment we...More

We have just returned from a week in Foolow, staying at a cottage opposite the pub. Super friendly pub with a good atmosphere. Extremely dog friendly. The owner was always welcoming. We ate at the pub a few times, and the food and service was...More

Lady who served us (not the young waitress) was rude and unaccomadating. The pubs dogs are constantly around your table. Previous visits have been good but this one was very poor. Food was good though.

Sounds like a proper gastro-pub and we expected good food. It was pretty basic. Nice sausages, but very poor "bisto like" gravy. Huge mound of very soggy chips with fish. No lemon or sauces offered. Disappointing. Stayed the night too, lovely room and bathroom, but...More

What's not to like about this place. Every boxed ticked as far as I'm concerned. Johnny runs the place like a captain who's in control of stirring his ship safely and makes you feel at ease immediately. Have frequented this place a number of times...More

We ate here one evening. The place was full, which tells you all you need to know really. The food was traditional, well cooked and plenty of it and served by friendly staff. Just don't go there if you don't like dogs as it is...More

Hi Yes dogs are allowed in the bar area, but not in the actual restaurant. We have just been here with our dog and had a lovely meal (same menu for bar as restaurant) and I would whole heartedly recommend it for both just... More
