We were spending a week in nearby Chillington, and were celebrating our birthdays. We booked a meal at the Millbrook and they offered to arrange a taxi for us. Excellent idea! So we left our details and phone number and left them to it. IT problems meant our phone number was lost on their systems so they actually put a... More

This is not your normal pub grub, but nearer Michelin Star. Quite pricy unless you go on one of their deal nights and check deal before hand. One of our favourite eating places for lunch or evening meals. The atmosphere is a typical quaint village pub , with beams and welcoming log fire in the winter. Outside by the stream... More

A good meal here with my sister and nephew. Very quaint but quote cosy - and a good varied menu. The pigs trotter starter was very tasty, and the bouillabaise had a nice variety of seafood in it and worked out well. Dessert choices were varied, and hte wine list had some decent wines at fair prices. Service was very... More

This was my second visit to the Millbrook, but it's been a while since the first. Let me say from the outset that it's popular, even out of season, so the bar is likely to be crowded on your arrival. We had booked a table so, even though we were early, we went and sat at it. Menus were produced... More

We have been visiting the Millbrook for many years from the 1980s when it was a very pleasant destination pub for good food and ales, often for the boating community who visited along the estuary from Salcombe. At one point a friend of mine owned the pub. Today The Millbrook presents itself as a Gastropub and is no less a... More

Pre xmas Sunday lunch with friends. Cold day, roaring fire on entry a great start. Young man working behind bar with great welcome and plenty of eye contact. Food was quick and really tasty. Service excellent beside what seemed skeleton coverage. Fab live music latte afternoon meant leaving was a struggle...

Deliciously cooked Sunday roast with all required trimmings followed by a really tasty pudding. This pub does exactly what you want from a Sunday roast and does it really well. Duck fat roasties, proper yorkies, cauliflower cheese, superbly cooked meat, all served in a friendly atmosphere with smiling staff, a roaring fire and a great selection of beers, ales, wines... We came here as a party of 6 for an early Sunday lunch and had a wonderful experience - food, drink, service and atmosphere were all great. We were greeted very warmly on arrival, and sat by the cosy fireplace sipping beers and reading the papers. It was a great feeling not to be rushed across to our table, despite... More
