The pub has three or four small areas for eating, so it is snug and very welcoming. Staff were very accommodating, we had one disabled, one vegan and two gluten free!! Toilet too small for wheelchair though. The food was delicious, rather French. We had...More

Idyllic local pub, candlelight atmospheric. Fabulous service/welcome. Expected good food on recommendation although warned about the portion size. Normally happy not to come away full, but had the pork........2 cubes of tenderloin, 2 of pork belly (lovely) set on scattering (and I mean scattering) of...More

Absolutely wonderful food. We went twice, for supper. Wouldn't change a thing. Brill, mussels, fish stew, scallops with chorizo - all unbelievably good.

I’ve read a few of the previous reviews whilst shaking my head... Narrow country lanes, crossing a stream by stones and over priced. Firstly, this is a little gem of a pub, tucked away in a beautiful little village that is also reachable at the...More

Thoroughly enjoyed a 1 night stay in the accommodation above pub, fantastic decor with loads of space and super comfortable bed. Stay was topped off with fantastic food and great hospitality from Charlie and his team.

We felt short-changed and overall poor value for money. The service was friendly and efficient. The portions were tasty but insufficient. Tasteful and warm surroundings provided a good ambiance but overly dim lighting and I couldn't see what I was eating.

Good atmosphere and friendly staff. However food was too expensive for what it was. Few vegetables and small amount of pureed potato accompanied a sparing quantity of pork. Dim lighting made it hard to see what I was eating. Moved on to sticky toffee pud...More
