After our first lovely meal we tried it out again, great selection of starters, mains which are constantly changed to stop repetition which is nice and a big plus, copious amount of specials, win win

Having just finished a photo shoot in the forest nearby and went to the plough for lunch. We arrived and although our booking had been taken for the following weekend we were given a table over looking the garden ...the menu had large selection with a few specials ....it was warm in side and a good atmosphere in the pub.... We had a lovely meal here last night - Good Friday - a real fishy menu to choose from. It was a shame that the mussels weren't served with a soup. spoon for the lovely broth, or that I wasn't given a small spoon for my starter, in a glass - I had to use the fork provided for 'starters'.... More

This is the second time we've visited The Plough Inn for a birthday lunch and once again it didn't disappoint. The pub is in a lovely position high up on top of the north downs and offers city dwellers like us a great view of the Kent country side. Inside the pub is very traditional with old oak beams and... The Plough is a friendly and welcoming pub in a quiet rural setting. We visited on a cool day and enjoyed the warmth from the log fire. The menu offers plenty of choice and includes seasonal dishes. The cauliflower soup was delicious as was the generous starter portion of mussels. Service was excellent.

I wouldn't call us regulars - maybe 2 times a year but we've been coming for a while and the food just gets better so if you want somewhere which is slightly off the beaten track but still easy to get to and does very good food at sensible prices - then check it out. Top marks for the chicken... More

Called in here for lunch while traveling through Kent (never go anywhere without the Good Pub Guide). Old fashioned pub with stone floors, scrubbed wood tables and a log fire. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Good selection of beers and a very innovative and interesting menu. Service was very good and the food was delicious and ideal for lunch (we... More

Took my friend in for her birthday lunch and it was just brilliant, from the welcome at the bar for our pre lunch drink, with a great choice of gins for the birthday girl, to ordering our lunch which was the best pub/restautant food I've had in a very long time. (chicken scotch egg & crab cakes to start, pork... More

Description
If you’re looking for a friendly independent pub restaurant in the picturesque Faversham area, then look no further. Local beers, wines & ciders and a choice from the constantly changing selection of unique homemade dishes from our blackboard come as standard in our family-run country pub. Tucked away in an area of outstanding natural beauty between the historical towns of Maidstone, Ashford and Faversham, The Plough inhabits a unique space amongst Kent’s rolling hills and lush farmland. Our unspoilt surroundings in ‘The Garden of England’ create the perfect setting for enjoying the fresh, locally-sourced meals we serve here. Just come and see for yourself. There’s plenty to see and do nearby, and we’re a great stop-off for walkers and cyclists alike. A short drive from Faversham is medieval Leeds Castle, the home of Catherine of Aragon in the sixteenth century, with parts dating back to the early 1100’s. We also enjoy stunning views out to Herne Bay, a popular Victorian seaside town known for its pier, pretty shingle beach and pastel-coloured huts along the seafront. Other local attractions are Farming World in Faversham for a day of family fun, and some of Kent’s leading vineyards for those who are young at heart. Whether you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a warm and lazy afternoon taking in the stunning views from our gardens or seeking the unbeatable cosiness of an open log fire in the winter, we look forward to welcoming you to The Plough Inn.
