We were served two different amuse bouche plates before our starters. The wild boar starter had enough meat on it to be a main. The lobster was tender and delicious with the sauce. The desserts were presented in a decorative manner, as were the other...courses. Many people din8ng were celebrating special occasions.More

As you’d expect from a restaurant with one Michelin star, the food and service was excellent. We ate there on both nights of our stay, and on one night the tables were set up under a large oak tree in the garden. The set menus...are probably well priced, but the extras such as wine matches and aperitifs push the cost up a bit. Breakfast was also served outside and had a large selection of fruit, juices, cereals and a small hot selection.More

We stayed one night last year. It was so good we stayed two nights this year. Marvellous mediaeval chateau. Very comfortable rooms, delicious food and wine, and welcoming staff. Great walk through woods nearby with a great view of the volcanoes (defunct happily!). Some lovely...Romanesque churches nearby to visit. We will be back!More

Amazing food and drinks as always. We requested 4 courses plus appetisers and petite fours and received additional three tasters. Highly recommended for any special occasion

Staying at the Chateau we looked forward to dinner. It was quite satisfactory- but we expected more. The food was over fussy and a little over the top. A case of trying too hard.

During our 4 days stay, we dined 3 evenings in the 1-star Michelin restaurant of the chateau. Unfortunately it did not meet our expectations in each of the evenings due to poor cooking techniques, as we had to send the over cooked meat back at...two occasions, service issues when the capacity was full and the limited menu. We tried almost everything in the menu, as even a la carte menu does not offer anything additional. It is a nice location, beautiful gardens however Michelin standard requires immaculate cooking skills.More

This place delivers what it says on the tin. Charming chateau set in beautiful grounds. Our room was lovely although the decor - tromp l'oiel walls were perhaps a little too much. Staff were friendly and welcoming. There is a lovely heated pool and pavilion...where we had a light lunch and nice bottle of wine. Dinner on the terrace was superb, although I had to request a refill of my water on 3 separate occasions - the bottle was some distance away. And they forgot to serve one drink The sommelier selected excellent wines which matched our food selections perfectly. The chicken my wife selected was sensational and I would recommend it. Oh, the fruit bread served with the meal was just Soooooooo tasty !! When we returned to our room night lights had been lit and a nice chocolate greeted us, not sure about the fire safety but lovely thought. Breakfast was continental with cereals and yoghurt, nice breads and croissants Look, this place is pricey BUT if you're looking for a peaceful place to stay with history, ambiance that's cosy and set in lovely countryside whilst having a lovely modern pool and pavilion -and delivers excellent food - this is the place for you. As to other things around, really as far as I could note only other chateaux to visit. Would I stay again ??? Yes, in reality it's not 5 star but very well worth a stay or even just dinner. It's also a Relais et Chateau memberMore

When thinking of a hotel chateau, this is how it is. Magnificent ground, beautifully appointed public rooms and accommodations. Excellent restaurant and service. I will definitely come back. However if you are handicapped this is not for you as there is no elevator and there...are many narrow steps To be climbed depending on the floor of your room.More

We came on a warm summer evening and ate outdoors. The food and wine were truly excellent. Strangely, the service, though warm and friendly, was not well-coordinated for a restaurant of this caliber. We didn't mind terribly because the environment was so pleasant and the...view so exceptional.More
