Excellent experience overall. We had the Christmas-inspired menu and it was incredibly consistent. The ability of a chef to prepare a "special" menu of such level is a sure sign of a top talent. The dinner split in two locations (cellar and dining room) is...a luxury that very few restaurants can afford. Hospitality is genuine and you can feel it's a family business. Then why not 5 stars? First. They warn you that the sequence of dishes will be a surprise and unconventional. That's fine. But almost every creation is bite-sized. You taste the food, it's amazing, but you don't have a chance for a second bite unless you steal it from your partner. Some dishes, IMO, need an adjustment in quantity. The second disappointment was the wine pairing. The cellar is spectacular, and the sommelier is one of the best in Italy. But the flight was unremarkable. Several non-wine drinks (sake, liqueurs, infusions, etc) were offered, and certainly matched the food, but there's no option to have a wine-only pairing. For the price, you would also expect some premium wines, but with the exception of two growers champagnes, the choice was underwhelming. The main course was paired with a Pinot Noir from Trentino which was nice, but certainly not at the level of a wine in the famous cellar. I would have paid for a "premium" flight but there was no such option. That would be my recommendation to the owners.More

The restaurant is managed by three brothers, each of them having their own role in this well-oiled machine. You will have to go for their seasonal tasting menu, and – trust me – you will not regret it. We were lucky enough to visit in...December, when they were proposing their “limited edition” menu inspired by the smells, the ingredients, and the flavors you might expect to find in Neapolitan homes in the Christmas period. The whole dining experience was spot-on: we were welcomed with a nice drink in the antechamber, we were helped through the kitchen where the chef surprised us with an unexpected starter, then we walked downstairs to their cellar, where we dined at candlelight surrounded by their thousands of incredible wine bottles. The pace was fast, we had many bites which could not be described in classical Italian courses terms (no “first dish” or “second dish” per se), everything was beautiful, prepared with care and detail and extremely tasty. Especially in this phase, there were many trompe-l'œil, different consistencies, and the majority of the courses were surprising in a good way. We finally moved to the main dining room, where we had the last stretch of our experience. The room is bright and well decorated, the tables are fairly distant, and you are given the right amount of attention by the staff. I will not describe the dishes, as they will change soon, and also because you have the same right I had to be surprised; all I can say, though, is that even the (very few) ones that did not “wow” us were perfectly executed – just lacking some punch. I had the beverage pairing, which entailed excellent wines from around the world, but also sake, gins, botanical drinks, a scotch… and that’s exactly what I would like to experience every time I visit a fine dining restaurant: competence, extensive knowledge, and ability to surprise the customers with pairings they would have never thought of. I had informed the crew it was my fiancée’s birthday, and they made it very special with a considerate and personal touch (if you guys are reading: once again, thanks a lot!). The price is probably higher than the average for one-starred restaurants in the area, but the team at Piazzetta Milù are definitely pushing the bar. Try to think about it in these terms: sure, you’d be paying a bit more than what you should for a “normal” one-starred restaurant, but you are having an experience worth two stars – which would be much more expensive. So, at the end of the day, it’s a bargain :-)More

From the moment you walk in and meet the first of the three brothers (Vasilio) that operate this restaurant, you know that you are in for a special evening. Only doing a tasting menu, this one star Michelin restaurant was our best meal in 10...days I Southern Italy. Your first appetizer is in the kitchen where you meet the head chef (brother 2- Michael) and staff. Then to the wine cellar for the rest of your starters, overseen by Emmanuel (#3). Your main dinner is in a lovely open and bright space. The food is superb as is the service. There are interesting takes on regional cuisine that evoke nostalgia and emotion, and hit your taste buds. Wine choices are wonderful, but so are the non-alcoholic homemade kombucha options. Go soon.More

The taster menu was such an exquisite meal, each course was delicious, the variety of flavours was lovely, wide-ranging, perfectly co-ordinated and often very surprising, which was great fun. We have eaten in many restaurants around the world that are considered excellent but cannot think...of any we have enjoyed more than this. The meal was uniquely well-conceived, demonstrating the greatest flair in conception and preparation. The owners and all the staff were delightful, helpful and professional in every way. We look forward to anther visit to the Bay of Naples and Piazzetta Milù will be our highest priority.More

My wife and I had dinner together here. You may not be attracted to this restaurant by its appearance which looks quite normal, were it not by the fact it belongs to Michelin guide selection. You may experience many good restaurants but here their ability...is to offer local cuisine recipes that you won’t taste anywhere else. And that is what makes this family restaurant to stand out as different. From the starter to the main course, whether it is meat or fish, your palate will go through a very unique experience, with many unexpected little surprises offered by the chef. Absolute a must if you are near Castellammare di Stabia. It is worth going the extra mile for the experience.More

I'll start of by pointing out that the kitchen did a very good job and the food was interesting og at times wonderfull. The staff was not unfriendly. They were merely robotic. Everything was so effective that we did not have time to chat to...them or say if we liked the food (they didn't ask us either). When our wine glass was empty the sommelier removed them but didn't offer something new. Also a bit expensive wine list.More

Ate here on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was quiet but the ambience was still good. We took the tasting menu which was really excellent- wonderful flavours and well presented. While many of the dishes were really fantastic, there was a dashi style soup that...was nothing special. The wine pairing was also very good. Service was attentive.More

Myself and my Wife were domiciled in Castelmare di Stabia when we recently visited the Amalfi Coast ! As a special treat we booked a table in Piazzeta Milu for dinner on Friday August 24th. From the moment we were welcomed into this emporium it...was obvious we were in for a special evening. The service, knowledge imparted and quality of the dishes presented to us were, quite literally, by a long way the best ever experienced. When we left totally satisfied it was like we were leaving a friend's house after a wonderful dinner party. If you are in the area do not miss this establishment. In fact, take a tour/detour if you are within striking distance and experience Restaurant Nirvana !More

Went with friends and did the 5 course tasting menu with wine, all excellent based on local cooking and brilliantly explained. Their own bread is wonderful and we had a 14%glass of beer with one course which was amazing. We were the only Brits in...but all staff spoke English and were very helpful. A little gem!More
