Excellent meal - one of the best we've had in our 10 days in Sicily. Smoked fish appetizer, veal Marsala, typical Sicilian "meat roll", caponata, and fresh oranges in caramel sauce were all excellent. Service was great, and staff were very friendly. Highly recommend!

We ate 2 excellent dinners here. The service is excellent and the food is delicious. Try the anti pasto mackerel, pasta with swordfish, pasta with tuna and the pasta with black ink and cuttle fish. All delicious and good value. HIghly recommended.

We had just spent five nights in Rome, trying some of the most highly rated restaurants there. Our meal at Monte San Guiliano topped them all. This was the kind of meal you dream of having when you travel. Many meals are excellent. Few, I think, are memorable, and this was. We arrived a little after 7:30, and no one... More

This restaurant was recommended by my B&B host and I showed up early without reservations and was welcomed warmly. I enjoyed the home made pasta special. The service was great, the food was delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant. It was a lovely dinner.

We enjoyed our lunch here - delicious pasta and house wine in a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant is quite hidden from the street and it's surprising how large it is inside.

Recommended by Hotel San Domenico (see my review of this hotel). Had dinner. Opened at 7:30, we arrived 7:10 but they allowed us to sit at our table to wait, brought us water and breadsticks, as well as menu. We had a mixed smoke fish appetizer that was excellent. First dish of stuffed ravioli with ricotta and cuddlefish ink as... More

This was one of our favorite meals in Sicily. Service was friendly and the menu featured many local specialties, including delicious pastas. The Busiati San Giuliano and Paccheri alla siciliana were real standouts. Great desserts as well, and all for a very reasonable price in a lovely setting.

We lunched here and found excellent service and food. They asked us to make reservations ahead of time, but the restaurant was empty when we got there.

Rainy, hungry night in Erice. We found this restaurant by accident before it opened for dinner and stepped inside with two questions -- what time do they open and do they have arugula salad -- because we were hungry and I was starving for the "good greens." When they said they opened at 7:00 (or was it 7:30?), we were... More
