We ate traditional Ferrarese food, which was very nice and appropriately priced. The waiter who attended us addressed our requests rudely and with a condescending manner that made us feel uncomfortable. It spoiled our experience of an otherwise pleasant environment.
Located in one of the nicest little streets of Ferrara, the reastourant is a good comination of traditional and Bohemian atmosphere. The service was excelent, and the food (home made pasta prepared at the entrance) to die for. The starters are for 2 people and the cappellacci with pumpkin and ragù are the must have. 2 starters, 2 main dishes,... More
Lovely place, warm atmosphere and excellent service. We enjoyed our evening very much, we had fresh homemade pasta and fried zucchini flowers! Delicious!
We loved our experience at Il Mandolino and after our week in Italy agreed that it was one of the best two meals we'd had in our whole visit. When first visiting any region, it is a good idea to try as many versions of the local specialties as possible, and in our opinion, the radicchio rosso e pancetta croccante, cappelletti... More
For our first night in Italy this trip Il Mandolino was a dream: it was warm, cozy, inviting; the owner was so accommodating and the food was delicious! Their specialties are all traditional dishes of Ferrara. The radicchio salad with pancetta and balsamic vinegar began the evening followed by a traditional pasticcio of maccheroni, mushrooms and truffle ensconced in brioche... More
Highly recomendable family owned restaurant. The lasaña was the best I´ll ever had. The panacotta with plum sauce was AMAZING . Great service, cozy decoration.
Il Mandolino was mentioned in our guide as the best restaurant in Ferrara. Rightly so! The ambience is charming and cozy, staff are efficient and very friendly and do speak English. The owner recommended a few dishes and they were so delicious. We got there by 7 and were lucky to get a table as we had not reserved one.... More
Went in due to large amount of people. Not disappointed at all had an unusual starter with meats and large filo pastry type things. Mains were excellent. Staff brilliant
