We ate here twice and found the choice of food and the food itself to be very good. Pasta Norma recommended. Also the granitas for dessert or just because they are delicious.

The food was strange, pizza was good but the salad was strange. Prawn, egg, avocado with random pieces of bread thrown in......it was puzzling. Along came the saviour.....the Gelato! 3 scoops of pistachio, chocolate and the holy grail of lemon ice cream! Definitely somewhere to check out if you like Gelato, with beautiful views and some good local beers but... More

Bartolo d'Hambra is a marvelous host, whose hospitality would appear to know no ends. His highly professional staff float in the background and ensure your glass is never empty nor your table short of stuzziccini. If people-watching is your love, then the Marina Corta is the location and Il Gabbiano the venue. Bartolo also dances!

Finally a trully amazing ice-cream! Very polite man working on the ice-cream deck showed us the choice we have, and there was no mistake. One of the best ice-creams on our vacation! Also the arancini with spinach and mozarella are adoreable and fresh! They serve nice local food also, which we havent had a chance to try unfortunately, but seing... More

If it's just a salad lunch you are looking for I think you do better here at Il Gabbiano than at the more serious Al Pescatore next door, though for a major meal Al Pescatore should be your first choice (see separate review). We thought our salads of iceberg, boiled egg, prawns and avocado, topped off with grated carrot and... More

The food was terrible. Service was pathetic. After the first bite we nearly left. Great location is all it had going for it. If anyone liked the food they'd have to be drunk. I'm still waiting for the check after 10mins and there is only two other tables being used. So I'm writing my first restaurant review to pass the... More

First time we went here we both had lasagnas that had to be sent back to be reheated to a safe temperature. Otherwise the food was reasonable if not great, and the coffee was better than average. Went back a few days later (mainly because they had pizza slices for our daughter and for the good coffee) and had to... More
