We stop at Papisca whenever we go to Lipari and always enjoy a variety of local foods. Love the stuffed grilled squid , their "sweet" chicken, caponata, and other dishes. Not inexpensive, but worth the price. Great gelato , so try to save room! Friendly...staff. Casual setting.More

Papisca is a simple restaurant, that does take aways, by the Canneto beach in Lipari. My wife and I have been for a few days to the Lido “ Las Palmas”, just across the street from the restaurant. After discovering the quality of the food...in Papisca lunch time has always been an highlight od our days to the beach. The arancini al ragù are superb, but also the octopus salad, the fried aubergine balls (polpette di melanzane) and the fried stuffed anchovies are very good. We preferred to eat on the beach but there are few tables in the shade. Service very friendly. They all smile, which adds to the enjoiment. A great place and a must visit if in Lipari.More

Went here with my fiancé in between breakfast and lunch times and had the almond and pistachio granita. So delicious! We also enjoyed the ragu arancini which was delightful. We will return to try more meals on our visit.

I have been visiting here since 2007 and the place is getting better and better every year. The best granite, gelato, coffee and food in town at very reasonable prices. Papisca is busy all year round, with locals and tourists. You have to try the...lunch, it can get very busy at 1pm but they have a great variety of local food to choose from, all home made by the family and very delicious.More

We catch the bus to Canneto and met a couple who told us about a take away fish shop very good so we stop on the seaside just in front of it. At 13:00 we approached it to discover that was not just a take...away but a complete restaurant serving also the best coffee in the world. So we started with an arancino, to continue with sword fish, beccafico sardines, caponata (aubergines chili capers mix), espresso coffee and coffee granita. Everything was delicious and light. Very well done! Enjoy!More

However, this is not one of those beach restaurants housed in a shabby shack. The place is across the road from the beach, with a nice terrace. Expect a very efficient service, fresh food from the buffet, lovely gelati and excellent cocktails (with a generous...serving of mini-pizzas and other goodies for free) late afternoon. We will be back!More

We had a great lunch with sallad and 3 courses. Very good food. I guess the best lunch in a week's time traveling in Italy. The white house wine was excellent and the staff manager told well card of us even the place was packed...at 14:30 on a Sunday. This place come highly recommended.More

This place is quite well known amongst the locals, and for good reasons. Whether you decide to go there for breakfast, lunch, dinner or after dinner is your own choice: the important thing is you go at least once! Great arancini, ice creams, coffee... Do...yourself a favour and just pop in!More

We stayed for a week in Lipari and had our lunch at Papisca nearly every day since it it conveniently situated just beside the Canneto beach. The food was really nice, you get your arancinis, insalata di polpettos and melanzane ripienis here, not forgetting the...gelato. The service was really friendly, it may have helped that one of our party speaks fluent Italian.More
