Wednesday evening by Mariano. In four, we tried asparagus starters (it's a tradition in this season), pastas with the same vegetable, bigoli in salsa, roasted turbot in potato crust, beef tagliata and local cheeses. Finally, a semifreddo nuts and figs. Needless to make it long: Mariano offers Venetian tradition dishes, prepared with excellent ingredients. Few frills and a lot of... More

Don´t let yourself be iinfluenced buy the overall simplicity of the place, get a table and order some food and wine. You will be surprised by the taste and presentation of dishes in front of your eyes. Moderate prices for what you get. Enjoy.

Excellent food and selection of wines. Out of the touristic routes, the place serves traditional food made with top-notch ingredients. A must go!

My wife and I have been waiting to dine at Osteria da Mariano and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is located in neighborhood area in Mestre. The menu contains equal offerings of seafood and terrestrial dishes. The food is locally sourced and expertly prepared. The homemade pasta was outstanding. The story behind the dishes and wine accompaniment are generously... More

If you are staying in Mestre a dinner in this restaurant can be much much better than staying in Venice for dinner. The food is delicious, the owner explains you every detail and is very very attentive, you feel almost at home. Pasta splendid, marvelous tiramisu. Prices very reasonable. It is a Michelin Bib for very good reasons indeed!

This family run restaurant in Mestre represents one of the best choice in town. The best raw food (excellent cheeses, good vegetables, selected beefs...) becomes really good dishes; you can taste, depending on the seasons, different dishes of the venetian tradition reinterpreted with creativity. An excellent choice of wines completes the offer of this restaurant.

One of the best restaurant in Mestre. Good atmosphere, very good service, nice owners and waitress. It serves traditonal food with a hint of research to modernize the tastes. I was there with 2 colleagues and I had the "Mariano menu" (a deal menu), while they had "2 courses a la carte" for a net difference of 5 EUR. For... More

Being used to the excellent food in Bologna, we were somewhat disappointed with this Michelin "Bib Gourmand" selection in Mestre. It's a family-run ostaria with a nice enough atmosphere and staff. The "slow food movement" signs on the walls bewildered us and belied quickly served and uninspired dishes. The pasta was hand-made and fresh, yet the primi were decidedly average.... More
