It seems from the reviews people don't differentiate between the 'proper' restaurant and the garden 'cafe'. We went to the latter, and had a very good experience. In-between lunch and dinner hours did not expect much, but the sole server was friendly and tried her very best to provide something acceptable for a vegetarian + a carnivore. Tasty and reasonably... Next to the Paestum archeological site can recommend two “feeding stations” I visited recently. Watch it – there seem to be two places using the “Museo” – one is just a roadside café – the one I'm talking about is the “real thing”. On a tight schedule – Ristorante Museo, just south of the museum, set beck in a “garden”... More

Decided to have drinks here while waiting for group entry to the museum. Slow and unenthusiastic service and the only sub- standard glass of house red I experienced in the whole week.

It doesn't seem obvious (expect perhaps in Italy) that the restaurant attached to the museum will be any good. But we had a delicious simple lunch here after viewing the museum and site. This is Paestum, home to some of the best mozzarella in the world, and the caprese salad did not disappoint, nor did the simple grilled vegetables, other... More

We stopped here with a tour group and I wasnt expecting anything special. Boy, was I wrong. I had the baked crepe and it was sooo good, I had to ask for the recipe. The server/manager was very nice. Dessert was a pudding/brulee with berries and it too was delish.

When we were in Paestum last summer we have eaten in this restaurant after our visit to the temple area and the museum. It was a very bad experience. The food was of poor quality (burned vegetables, fish not fresh) and we had to wait for a long time. Service was also unfriendly. We will not return to this place!

Just what you want after visiting the temples. There are many delicious flavours of icecream - I had hazelnut (nocciola) and coconut.

After the crowds in Rome, Naples, Pompeï and the Amalfi Coast, the best place to be is Paestum! Go and discover yourselves! And do what the locals do, enjoy an icecream at this bar-gelateria, heaven on earth guaranteed!

We had a superb here! No frothy sauces, weird combinations or square plates - just excellent produce, well cooked and served with care - every thing a restaurant should be. We wanted to go back back for dinner but apparently it is lunch only. God laughs at us

If you need a snack and a Latte or Cappuccino, this is the place to stop. Not expensive. Food was good, friendly place, good service
