High above Pistoia, on the road to Porretta Terme this is a high quality family restaurant with excellent food and reasonable prices. On Sundays and holidays it's best to reserve in advance, as the place is packed, including the main dining room, the back garden and the roadside terrace tables. Excellent choice if you're in the area.

Exceptionally lasagne, you never eat better one. Frendly family staff. Typical Tuscan cuisine. Home made "limoncelo" are necesry on the end of dinner. We recommend you to visit.

Delicious lunch, served by helpful and pleasant staff, in a cool room with open window and fresh air. We shared the tris of pasta, which had four different pasta dishes to taste, and was perfect. I had grilled prawns, which were large and tasty. Delicious fungi fritte. Altogether a very enjoyable Tuscan meal

The service and food at La Cugna was absolutely fantastic. The only problem was the portions were so large there was no way we could eat everything. From Pasta Bolognese to sliced steak to a wonderful selection of desserts (I did the Tiramisu) one could not ask for anything more ... other than this being NOT the place to go... More

We knew this restaurant was good as all the patrons are locals! This restaurant is not touristy - they serve fantastic Italian food and know what people want. The risotto is delicious and I would not hesitate to recommend it. Would love to return.

The staff were fantastic and made us feel so welcome . The food was also brilliant , we went back three consecutive days . It was lovely to eat and drink somewhere that was full of Italians not tourists, and clearly appreciated by the locals. Even when we didn't want a starter we were treated to little extras etc. definitively... More

We've visited La Cugna twice during our week in Tuscany as our hotel was right down the road. La Cugna is a very big resturant with 2 sections that could easily be resturants on their own: smokers and non-smokers. Make sure you tell your preference to the hostess before being seated. There is plenty of parking across the road, so... More
