Stumbled upon this place whilst walking up some stairs towards the road. We made a reservation with reception as it is part of the hotel. The food was truly outstanding … fresh as. I had the prawn linguini with cream of lemon. So yummy and...then had the lobster. Service was also good and I think Alexander and his sister should be commended as true hospitality service hosts. If I wanted to eat in a restaurant with a large number of Americans, mostly on their honeymoon I would have gone to Hawaii. I found the service okay, very regimented with stuffy feel. It was very warm inside and we asked the waiter to...open up the window which they did to get some fresh air but as soon as the wind started to blow, the windows were shut. We had to demand that they open up a window for us to get some fresh air. Food was okay, expensive. For us, other more casual options were much better.More

An amazing restaurant tucked away in the back streets but 100% worth the walk up the stairs. They were amazingly welcoming and attentive service. The food was sensational. And the view and atmosphere perfect for an evening meal. This is a true hidden gem of...Positano. The tuna tartare, cacio e pepe (with prawns and lemon sauce), lamb chops and tirimisu were all insanely tasty, well presented, perfectly cooked and flavours melt in your mouth. Very nice view, friendly and attentive staff. Good atmosphere. The food was very good, however small portions, gourmet style size. Should have been informed of the small sizes, so that we could consider extra couses or side dishes. Overall good and recommended.

My husband and I dined at La Scalinatella on the last night of our honeymoon and are so glad we did. The breathtaking, serene view coupled with the all-star service and incredible food was exactly how we wanted to shape our final memories of such...a special trip in our lives. Gabriel, Francesco and the entire staff are respectfully attentive, knowledgeable about the food and restaurant, joyful and an absolute pleasure to dine with. We ended up ordering a second plate of the lamb because it was so divine, and we enjoyed our new favorite after dinner liquor, Vecchio Amaro Del Capo, thanks to their recommendation. Thank you La Scalinatella for making us feel like royal members of your family and giving us such a memorable dining experience by the sea! My only note is that it can be tricky to find (it's located in the Albergo Miramare hotel), so ask a local or your hotel concierge and be prepared to go up a lot of steps to get there (worth it!).More

We visited for dinner owing to TA reviews. We arrived early so were seated on the lounge with complimentary prosecco while we waited. Our table was right on the window with panoramic views. Another complimentary prosecco was offered to start. We enjoyed our meals but...the service is the real star here with the maître d possibly the best in the business.More

We enjoyed everything about this restaurant! The view is incredible, even if you don't get a front line table, though they moved us up to the front row when another party left. The option was offered to us when we first sat down and we...took them up on it. They didn't rush anyone and would have let us stay there all night, I think! The view made that a tempting thought. The food was delicious, every course was wonderful! Portions were perfect! Interesting appetizer choices that were delicious. We had seafood for our second courses which were very well prepared and the pasta was some of the best we had during our stay in Italy. They also have a very nice wine list with offerings at all price ranges and they helped us pick out a great wine based on our tastes. The staff was some of the most friendly and sincere that we encountered in our travels to Italy. Raffaele was the absolute best! So warm and welcoming ! Francesco, the Maitre D', was present and involved and welcoming as well! But truly the entire staff were charming. So happy we were able to experience La Scalinatella.More
